As she moved into the final verse, her hands missed a key and she paused, then picked it up again. As she missed a second time, the sixteen year old let out a faint sobbing sigh and gave up on the song. Closing the cover again, she raised an arm and wiped her nose and eyes on one sleeve...and if the sweatshirt was actually her brothers? David didn't need to know.
Standing, she turned to head for the door, then stopped when she saw someone standing there, letting out a faint sound of surprise, almost a 'meep'. Swallowing hard, she froze in place, taking a few minutes to try and figure out who he was. After a moment, she blinked, realizing it was the new guy who talked funny. Hopefully, if he was in the complex, he wasn't a bad guy.
"H...hi." Normally she would have rambunctiously greeted him and offered to show him around, but at the moment she was too sad to muster more than a faint smile as a greeting. "You're new right?"
