Bertie grimaced at the thought of only getting six hours' sleep. "That sounds exhausting! I hope your chap is worth it! I think love's first blush would soon fade if I were required to get up early in the mornings."
Bertie nodded, somewhat reassured that nobody would be pressing a rifle into his hand any time soon. "Well, even getting on with daily life will be quite a challenge I imagine. Being useful is rather alien to the Wooster way of life, or has been up until now. I would lend a hand when it was needed, but it was more along the lines of singing Sonny Boy at a concert or loaning a pal some cash. And occasionally committing burglary, but it's hard to say no to one's aunts."
Bertie peered at the packet as Rose pointed out the cooking instructions. "Well, isn't that simply topping! I need no longer fear starvation!" he said with a grin. "Thanks for all this," he said. "I know I'm somewhat of a chump, so I do appreciate you taking me by the hand, so to speak."
