Rose began tapping off on her fingers. "Alcohol is best in moderation, go easy on fried and fatty foods, and you should always wear a seat belt in a vehicle. I think that's it." She grinned at his commentary on his usual day. "You're a late sleeper, too, huh? I was. Then I wound up with a guy who barely sleeps at all and is always after adventure. You're lucky to get six hours in when he's in one of those moods."
"You don't have to join the fighting. We don't require it or anything. In fact, there are other ways to help. Keeping the place cleaned up, helping stock the supplies, educating the kids that are here..." Though from what he'd said, he didn't have an overwhelming skill set. But so what? Neither had she just a few years ago. She was getting there. "Or, like me... Well, I am helping with the fighting when and where I can, and I've been trained to deal with demons and ghosts and the like, but I'm also a university student. You can go on with daily life here. You just have to do it with the seal thing running amok."
She hopped down and walked over to the freezer, taking out one of those hot pocket things. "Most things like this will have directions on the back," she pointed out, literally taking her finger and going over the cooking instructions. "Two minutes, one minute, five. Whatever it says, just punch that in, and you've got yourself a quick meal!"
Frankly, she figured if people like Jaime Lannister and Ariel could learn to survive with all this technology, so could he. Some of it had even been around in Bertie's time. Just not quite as advanced. He'd learn!
