Lexi had had far too much coffee. That was probably the first problem. Coffee and a daylight ring allowing her to walk around in the sunshine and Lexi Branson felt gooood. She'd decided to take a walk as she sometimes did just admiring the scenery. She'd dressed in her usual skinny jeans and a dark top with tassles stretching from a thin piece of material along her neck to just above the cleavage line. And now she was on her third coffee of the still mid morning. Least this one was iced. Iced meant least caffeine right?
She had plans for the day. Plans that involved her girls and a movie marathon. She'd rented three each more sappy and nineties than the last and was walking past one of the campuses that made up the little college city when she spotted the guy.
Fancy threads, fancier hat. Ooh Ooh twenties! She'd loved the twenties. The twenties had meant Lee, and her being a ridiculous flapper. And all the fun speakeasies. She was pretty sure she'd once compelled Elliot Ness not to arrest her. Or some guy claiming to be. She had been pretty drunk at the time. She bounded over to the guy, hyped up on coffee and amusement and held out her hand.
"Lexi Branson, welcome to Kansas. Its not the twenties but I can explain. There's a whole thing where well...Yeah wow, too much coffee. But basically you're stuck here now, but its not all bad. There's a free place to live and good people and okay so an apocalypse but that's for later. Right now you need to sit down probably. Do you like iced coffee? Have you had iced coffee? You should." she said pushing the plastic cup and straw at the man.
"Yeah I know, people are weird now. But be honest, people were weird back then. Bet your family were like 'Oh these modern kids' I know mine were."
