Well this was going to be interesting. He'd never really gone shopping for himself, much less with a woman for clothes. Not since he was a little kid anyway with his mother, but he was looking forward to it. Darcy had been a good friend to him since he'd arrived and he liked seeing her when he could-which wasn't a whole lot lately. He failed in the friend department during the Joker fiasco and post with Bruce's arrival and his mental panic. Things were finally starting to go back to normal at least as normal as they could be anyway for him. His frame of mind was settling down and no longer anywhere near as chaotic as it had been the past week after watching the Joker get gunned down.
He knew the Joker deserved it, hell a lot of their big bads did. If they killed every single one of them though where would that leave them? Wherever it left them Dick really didn't want to dwell on it anymore. Bruce was in Kansas now and refusing to kill, whether or not that was a good thing was still foggy given the impending apocalypse but it meant Dick had a stabilizer. A rock of sorts and he desperately needed that. He was a grown man now, but even back home when he was off on his own adventures with his own various teams just knowing Batman was around made him feel better. Kansas was no different.
For the first time since his arrival it felt like things would work out and he could stop forcing them. He didn't have to be on autopilot 24/7, he could actually be himself and it was nice. For a while he'd almost forgotten who Dick Grayson was and had become Nightwing. He needed that balance or he would lose himself, he knew it and he knew now to be much more careful then he had been about finding it. Getting out during the day with Darcy was a good step. It was odd being out in the sunlight, but it was good. He waited for her outside the complex, leaning against the guard rails and looking up at the sky. Sunlight, so it wasn't actually a myth. Who knew?
