Darcy felt her face growing warm when Dick joked back that he definitely wasn't Superman. That was fair enough, but the way he'd said it back made her wonder if she was inadvertently trying to fill Clark's shoes with Dick's feet. She didn't much like that idea, so she pushed it away.
"Superman's better," Clark said defiantly, giving a facial shrug to show his indifference of Batman. Darcy groaned.
"Batman wears a silly hat," Conner chimed in, peeking around Darcy and grinning up at Dick.
"Okay, that's enough, let's get going, huh?" Darcy broke in, nudging Clark to hush. Looking back at Dick she grinned and shrugged. "Yeah, it's a gift," she teased back. Or, you know, you have the same build as my ex-fiance who was a 32," she added.
As the four of them slid into the cab, Darcy looked back at Dick and arched her eyebrows. "You were for real in the circus?" she asked, curious. "That's kind of awesome, actually," she tacked on before giving the driver directions and turning from Dick to buckle the boys into the same seat belt. Upon the mention of a leather jacket, Darcy looked back at Dick. "I could swing that," she replied. "You'd probably rock it."
Already, in her head, Darcy was trying to decide what kinds of clothes to choose for him. They had to fit his body type and over-all style interest, but at the same time, they had to stray from what she'd normally have bought for Dex, because that was just... Darcy didn't want to think about it.
Once they'd gotten to the mall and back out of the cab, Darcy chewed her bottom lip, taking her boys' hands and starting toward the entrance. "I'm thinking we should start somewhere simple," she began, "like Burlington; they have practically everything and I can probably get some stuff for the twins, too. Both sets," she said, muttering the last bit under her breath just slightly. Looking over at Dick, Darcy raised her eyebrows. "I'm guessing you're mostly a jeans kind of guy, huh? We can get you some suits, too, or at least some business casual stuff for when you decide to work or whatever..."
