Who: Emma, Jim and Aurora and npc!Drivers
What: The Moriartys get together for lovey dovey criminal family fun!
When: A while after arriving in the past
Where: Lawrence street then wherever Jims at right now
Warnings: TBA; so far, inapproriate flirting XD

Aurora stared at her phone in frustration then locked the screen. People were so stupid, believing that horrible British asshole over her dad. Her daddy wasn't a killer, THAT was insane, not him!

Even if he didn't come to get her himself. She hated all the drivers, the impersonal way they acted, she could never get them to talk to her or anything. They seemed almost scared of her, which was just weird.

She kicked a random can on the sidewalk and scowled. This was all so odd and annoying and NOT FAIR. Why did she have to live in such a shitty town as Lawrence and why did there have to be a crazy seal and why did she have to get caught burning that bitch Jessie's clothes and why did they kick her out and why everything?! Biting back tears of anger and frustration she sat on the kerb and fumed silently for a few minutes, pulling her last smoke from her backpack and lighting up. By the time she stubbed it out a black car pulled up next to her, and she sighed in relief.

A young man in a suit got out and raised an eyebrow at her questionly. "Aurora, yes?" She nodded and smiled coyly. "Uhuh, that's me. Y'know you're kinda cute for one of d.." she stopped herself. He wouldn't know Jim was her Dad, not in this world. "Jim's boys." She could see the edge of a tatto underneath his suit cuffs and he was muscly, a scar just visible peaking out from his collar. A bad boy reformed....very nice. She ran a finger over his chest for a second and smirked. "Nice suit..."

She hopped in the passenger seat of the car before he could respond, smiling to herself. He slid into the drivers seat and started the car without looking at her, but she could see out of the corner of her eye that he was smiling too. He glanced at her before he pulled out. "I have to admit, I don't normally get asked to pick up pretty young girls. What age are you?"

Aurora just smirked again and didn't reply. Maybe this place wasn't so bad after all, and once she got to her Dad everything would be fine; it always was.

Emma had grown increasingly impatient with the driver Jim had sent. Oh, she had faith in her husband's choice of employees. And she did understand the paranoia the man might have been dealing with. It was the same one who'd picked her up on Valentine's night, which for her had been years ago. But for him, it was less than a week and she'd still been blonde at least somewhat polite with him.

But she'd been dragged back to one of the worst years of her life, her husband was still a young man who cared for her but didn't know her as his wife, and her daughter was going through hell. Frankly, she had no patience for stupidity. And by the time she'd told the man three times the correct way to go and he hadn't listened, she'd convinced him to pull over. Not his smartest move.

She drove into the familiar drive, a smirk on her face. She understood the need for Jim's privacy but she could still handle herself, thank you. She pulled in behind another car and sighed when she saw the driver leering at her daughter. Not cool. She stepped out, carrying herself with the same grace she always did, only increased by living with Jim's nurturing. When she motioned for the idiot to roll down his window, he did and she noticed he was leering at her, too. Asshole. Had no idea who he was dealing with. Fair enough. He'd know soon.

"Out of the car, Aurora," was all Emma said, though her tone was icy enough that anyone listening would know her intentions weren't kind. "Your father's waiting."

Aurora and the driver spent the rest of the journey in silence, but she could tell he was checking her out and it pleased her no end. She knew she looked older than 15, and she preferred more mature men anyway. The boys in her school - both the old and new - were so childish and uncool. When they pulled up to the kerb she turned to look at him, a fliratious smile on her face. "So, do I get your number, handsome?"

Before he had a chance to reply her mother was at his window. Balls. Her mom always had the worst timing when it came to Aurora and her crushes, and this was no different. He turned to look at her mom and she saw he was checking her out too. Asshole; now she didn't want his number anyway.

She hopped out of the car silently and slammed the door, pouting. Her Mom sounded pissed; it better not be at her, she hadn't done anything, damnit. Almost automatically she moved a few foot away so Emma could talk to the driver in private; it was something she'd been told to do since her early years, when one of her parents was annoyed at the help, and at this stage she didn't need to be told.

She wanted to hug her daughter tightly and just be grateful she was all right. In this horrible excuse for a time, anything could have happened to her. But she had something to deal with first. Obviously she couldn't do anything to the driver with Aurora looking on. Even she wasn't that cold. So she merely leaned into the window of the car and hissed a threat, telling the driver to wait in the living room. Jim's boys could take care of him from there. Oh, they'd leave plenty for him. They always did. But he wasn't going anywhere.

Stepping away from the car, she offered her daughter a smile, looking her over. "You okay, sweetie?" she asked, finally reaching out to pull the girl in for a quick hug. There were few people Emma showed such generous affection to. Jim, because he'd broken through her defenses and made her love him despite them. And Aurora. She'd missed out on all those opportunities with Henry, she wouldn't lose it again.

The girl looked a year or two older than she remembered, but nothing drastic. Not like the whiners on the online boards who were freaking out because their children hadn't existed, or had been babies. No, this she could deal with. "You understand, right?" she said, looking down into those big blue eyes with concern. "About your dad and who he is right now?" Not the criminal mastermind part. They'd tell her eventually. No, just that Jim Moriarty hadn't had a child yet, here. He hadn't even kissed her mother. Big difference.

Aurora watched her mother talk to the driver and sighed slightly. Great, now he was in trouble for flirting with her. Although frankly she didn't care too much, if he was going to eye them both up he kinda deserved it.

When Emma stepped away she smiled back at her and nodded, immediately forgetting the driver. She had that in common with her dad - unimportant people were dismissed from her mind in seconds, even cure ones. "Yeah I'm ok. Freaked, but ok." She hugged her back tightly, grateful for the normal interaction - today had been anything but average, at least for the last hour. "Did you get a hair cut...? It looks shorter..." Aurora couldn't see the age difference between the Mom she knew and the one standing in front of her, but she noticed things like hair.

Blinking up at her mom in confusion she nodded. "He doesn't know me, he's daddy from now not the daddy at home? Right? So you two haven't had me yet?" It was weird and his response to her on the comms hadn't helped her anxiety at randomly being in 2012, but she understood at least.

Emma tugged anxiously on the ends of her hair. It had been dark for some time, and she knew her Jim liked it quite a bit, but this one? What if he didn't? Now her daughter had her concerned about the length, too. Wonderful. "I did. About a year ago. It was getting out of hand." That helped. Aurora couldn't have been much older than 14, if she remembered Emma's hair being really long. "So it looks like you're actually even a little behind me."

Ugh. Stupid Seal. "That's right, angel," she said, smoothing Aurora's own hair and watching her carefully. They'd kept her sheltered from a lot, and the Seal was included in that. By keeping her in school away from Lawrence, she hadn't had to deal with it much at all. But now? Here they were. If she hadn't gone and gotten expelled, though, this never would have happened. "We've only been out twice, actually." Her smile was faint, remembering those early days. Jim trying to crack the shell that was Emma while the rest of the complex tried to pull her back. Fools. All of them.

"At least he knows of me, though. And he knows how much you mean to me and that'll help. He'll love you. He has to." Because she was so much her father's daughter. Oh, she'd inherited things from Emma. A natural grace, an eagerness to be involved in things, and something about her just screamed royalty. But she was so like Jim that, admittedly, sometimes it scared Emma.

Aurora just frowned when Emma said she was a little bit behind her. A second later she grasped what she meant. "Um, I just changed schools, like two weeks ago." She glanced at the ground as she said that, wondering if Emma was going to bring up the fire. She'd been pretty annoyed at Aurora when it happened, but Daddy had believed her when she claimed no knowledge of what happened, so Mom had dropped it. Hopefully she'd keep that up now. "How long ago was that for you? And I like it that length, it's pretty." She reached up and tugged on it gently too, grinning.

"Only two dates? That's...so wrong. I mean I get it but...wrong. Bet they were good dates though yeah?" She knew they were - Daddy didn't do things by halves and he would have made their first dates amazing.

She smiled confidently at Emma. Of course he'd love her! "It doesn't matter what year it is, Daddy will love me no matter what. I'm his princess! And you're his queen. It'll be fine Mom."

That explained a lot, and Emma only nodded. Somehow Aurora hadn't figured out Emma's little superpower yet, and that was fine. It wasn't as if Jim would ever scold her for anything anyway. But Emma knew when those letters came home from schools and Aurora tried to deny it that her daughter really had been the one to do the horrible things she was accused of. And every once in a while, Emma did stop and wonder if maybe she'd made the wrong choice. Oh, she loved Jim and she supported him and she'd grown into quite the impressive criminal herself. But she thought Aurora could achieve so much more. And she was sort of afraid for her daughter. Her dad had rather large shoes to fill.

Still, she couldn't help smiling as her daughter tugged lightly on her hair. "It's been a while," she admitted, sliding an arm around Aurora's shoulders. "Don't worry about it. But yes, they were good. Brilliant, really." He had treated her like she was fragile, not the hard ass she wanted to be. And he'd treated her like royalty. Which, she supposed, she was. Not that she was telling Aurora that. Her daughter knew little about her past and she preferred it that way.

"That's my girl. You're his spitting image, there's no way he can't fall in love with you at first sight. He did when you were born, he will here." She'd been terrified to tell Jim she was expecting, and she had never truly been able to gauge how he'd taken the news. But the second she'd placed their newborn in his arms, she knew it was going to be okay. "Come on, then, let's let him meet you. Remember, he'll look a bit younger. But your dad aged gracefully, I have to give him that."

Well now, a ready made family. Jim had taken some time to himself to work out what he thought of the whole business. A wife, that wife. His very own fairytale all grown up. And a daughter. A girl. He didn't know what he was supposed to do if he was honest with himself. Was he expected to love her? Did he love Emma? She'd said it, said she loved him and he'd been conflicted, confused. Love was one of those things he used, he'd used it on Molly, that poor sad little woman growing old with her cats. He'd made her love him very easily. Oh he knew how? He knew the logic behind it but it was all so futile and so normal. Love didn't help matters, love only hurt. It left chaos in its wake and he wanted no part of it. But it seemed Emma didn't want it in return so Jim had sent cars for his 'wife and daughter'.

When they arrived he moved outside to greet them, still mostly confused as to the emotions he was supposed to feel and quite stuck on curiosity. But as Emma climbed out of the car, brunette and graceful, he watched her lean in to the car window of the car the young girl climbed out of and whisper to the driver. Oh yes, his fairytale had changed. She'd changed so much and it was lust and not love his mind found its way to. He'd bet they'd had fun creating that girl.

To the girl herself he simply watched her for a moment. Yes, he could see himself and Emma there, just little things, the way she walked, the look in her eyes. And she looked not unlike him. He'd kill anyone who dared threaten her. Was that love? That was weird? Unnerving one might even say.

"Glad to hear I grow old in style ladies" he said simply, putting aside his worries and confusion for now. He wouldn't let them see confusion. He didn't do confusion and he didn't like it. So that would stay hidden. Getting a closer look at the women in his life he could see that there was a bright future ahead if things played out right. Things could be very very good for him. As to how though, he hadn't quite worked that out yet.

Aurora just smiled when her mother confirmed that the dates were brilliant. Her daddy never did anything by halves, least of all when it came to her mom. She snuggled into Emma, thankful for the comfort.

"I know he'll look a little younger, but that's ok. I mean you look different to me, and I get it." She couldn't comprehend her father not recognising her. He was her Daddy and he loved her no matter what the time, even if she hadn't been born. That was just how it worked. Then she heard his voice from behind her and spun, grinning widely. "Daddy! You always have style!"

She half ran, half bounced over to him and embraced him in a big hug. She had missed him lots over the last few hours; nothing unexpected happened when her dad was around, not like the last while. Looking up she grinned, the same manic glint that sometimes appeared in Jim's eyes showing in her own. If you put them side by side and let him slice someone open as she started a fire the resemblance wouldn't just be uncanny. They'd look like carbon copies of each other, rather than father and daughter.

People didn't get close to him, people that did that, that got that close, they died. They died painfully. And this girl, the one he felt an annoyingly irrational need to protect, she'd nearly bounced toward him and was hugging him like she hadn't seen him in years. His eyes widened and he glanced across to Emma, this older Emma who had fallen for everything he'd wanted for her and become this person he wanted her to be. And in the process. She was his wife.

"You'd be Aurora then?" he said simply, figuring words would help the situation. He tapped her on the back once or twice and disentangled himself as quickly as he could stepping back a pace or two just to reassess things. People didn't react to him like this. Never like this. He didn't like it.

Though there was a look in her eyes when she gazed up at him, one he recognised as very similar to himself. Oh she was his, he knew that. But she wasn't his yet.

"We should...go inside." he said simply, eyes fixed on Emma but occasionally glancing at the girl, his child. "I'm sure there's a lot to talk about. I have a room ready for you Aurora and Emma, well its up to you. I can have something made up for you or..." He had married her. He supposed it would make sense she'd want to stay with him. Married though, why had he done that? What had been the point? It was all so very very confusing.

And he hated confusing. He wasn't sure of his next move. He wasn't in charge. He didn't know what to do. But he needed time. He just needed time.

Emma smirked. She couldn't help it, really. No one ever caught Jim off guard. It was how he'd won the little game they'd played for so long. He was calculated. He thought out every move, every possible outcome, and he beat it. And here she was, this precious girl they would soon create together, throwing Jim completely off his game. What other option did she have but cross her arms in front of herself and smirk?

"Yes, love. This is Aurora. She's, what, fifteen?" she asked, glancing at her daughter for confirmation. That damned Seal.

Her first instinct was to do as she always did. To take her husband's waist, place a lovin kiss against his lips, and lead their little girl inside together. But, much as he still looked and sounded like him, this wasn't her Jim. The man she'd fallen in love with was still a good time away. The one who loved her back, even further. This Jim liked his space and she respected it, keeping a distance. "Whatever you're comfortable with, sweetheart. I know this has to be strange for you."

After all, he'd always had issues with things like love. It couldn't be explained and therefore, it was difficult for him to wrap his head around. But he would. Oh, he would. She'd let him go on thinking he couldn't fall in love, but she knew this man better than anyone, maybe even better than he knew himself given her time advantage, and she knew for a fact that he could.

Daddy wasn't hugging her back, and it felt wrong. Still looking up at him the grin faded, her face the epitomy of confusion, and nodded in answer to his question. Then she copped on and her face became slightly harder, but understanding was also evident.

Aurora looked at her mom. "Yeah, 15. This is...too odd." Glancing back at her dad she smiled slightly. "Thank you for sorting a room, daddy. I get that you don't know me here, it was nice of you to do so." Politeness was a default when she didn't know what to do - she'd probably picked that up from her mom. It definitely didn't come from the fraternal side anyway. Her tendency to lash out when politeness didn't work, on the other hand...

Moving to take Emma's hand - something she didn't normally do, but she needed the comfort - she looked to this younger version of her daddy. "Let's go then, I guess..."

A family, a family. It just felt wrong to him. The girl that seemed to care so completely for him and the wife that...well at least she'd held back and hadn't leapt at him too. But they were happy to go inside and so it meant that yes, he had a family. He had people that cared and he had people that he seemed to mean more to than he could fathom anyone meaning to him.

Though Emma looked highly amused, almost smug at the whole situation which he had to admit to being a little proud of. She really was going to be his greatest creation wasn't she. She'd keep him from being oh so terribly bored of life until he was ready for Sherlock and everything that was to come for them.

He put his hand on Emma's shoulder. Just a simple action just to show, what he supposed was affection. He hoped it was coming across that way anyway, it should put Aurora more at ease if nothing else. The smirking he'd return later, once they were alone he supposed. She'd expect all that wouldn't she, they usually did. His fairytale. So predictable still in some ways.

"Inside then, I'm sure you both have a lot to tell me?"

To be honest, Emma wasn't sure where her daughter had picked up such a polite disposition. Both she and Jim were very matter-of-fact. Her maternal grandmother, maybe. Though Emma knew from keeping up with life in Storybrook that her mother was fiery and independent, she also knew that Mary Margaret was the kindest person she'd ever met. It was nice to see some of that come out in her little girl.

All she really knew was it felt good to have her baby's hand in hers. She'd gone so wrong with Henry, it was nice to see she might do better by Aurora. And at fifteen, she hadn't gotten much affection from the girl any longer, so every moment of it was precious.

The affection from Jim, though... It was something, at least. For a man who had only so formally taken her hand to dance in his time, every step was crucial. She wanted to hold him and tell him it'd be okay but she knew he couldn't handle that yet. So she used her free hand to reach up and lightly touch the hand on her shoulder before starting to lead the way inside. It was funny, knowing that to him, she'd never been there and yet to her, this place was home. Again. Damn Seal.

She squeezed her daughter's hand reassuringly as they made their way to the front hall. "We'll answer what we can. You know we can't tell you everything, though. Too much chance we'll do something wrong, something's at changes things for you." It was both a notice to him and a warning to her daughter. Aurora wasn't used to the insanity of the Seal and the crazy people of Lawrence. She didn't know rules of not messing with time. All they needed was one of those vigilante types banging on their door and scolding them.

Aurora watched her parents with barely concealed confusion. She understood the time difference, she really did, but even still...they should be kissing and she should be going "ew" like she always did. Watching them being so seperated was just...odd. Although at least daddy was touching mom a little now, that was something she guessed?

She watched her father as they walked into the house. He almost looked confused, which was an expression she couldn't remember seeing on his face before now. When Emma squeezed her hand and said they couldn't answer everything she looked up at her, nodding to let her know she understood. She'd take her lead from her mom on this one then, which was a rarity, but made sense given the situation.

Stopping in the hall she spun around, examining the place. "You need to do some decorating Daddy, this place looks so much nicer in the future...."
