Faith didn’t sleep often, but when she did, she slept pretty soundly…especially when she was content. Which she was right now, with Mark. She’d come to the scary realization that she was falling for him, but she was too afraid of scaring him off to say anything – particularly since he seemed determined to keep their relationship casual. But that didn’t stop her from curling around him as she fell asleep with him.
So it was actually pretty normal to wake up to his voice. What wasn’t normal, though, was what he was saying. As his words cut through her sleepiness, Faith stirred slowly, stretching out, then curling up again as she rolled to face him. Her dark eyes finally slid open and focused on his face, a smile automatically crossing her lips at seeing him. Before speaking, she leaned in and brushed her lips along his jaw as a “good morning”, mainly just because she could.
Finally, she pulled back and yawned, then spoke up, her eyes still on him. “What’d you say?”
