========================

Alex had been going stir crazy when he hadn't found his parents yet. He seemed calm enough when talking to the family here, but inside he was trying to keep cool. It was when he was talking to his sister, and a couple hours at the movies (partly to prevent an escalating argument between her and Patrick), that made it easier to think. Damien and Prue simply weren't in Lawrence. They did take road trips as they grew up, as he recalled. He had been thinking in normal terms of how to locate them. But then Patty had inadvertently reminded him of their witchcraft skills, from their mother's side of the family. Of course! He should have thought of spells and scrying when he first got here. But the shock of being in the past had distracted him from that. Not to mention his worries about being in a time before the victory over Lucifer and the Apocalypse; it took a lot of self control not to panic. He did agree it would be easier scrying for his parents than putting messages to people on the board and then.. waiting. No, this method was the best way to do it. And Alexander was never one to be patient for too long, anyway.

So he had agreed to meet his sister in their dad's old room in the complex. It seemed very clean and tidy. That had never changed, it seemed. There was also plenty of expensive stuff. The TV and game systems were a bit outdated and old by his own standards.. but still. It was nice. Though he would be so glad when he was back in the future, in their massive house with more space. It didn't take him long to find an atlas book. He opened it to the broad view of the entire country. He had a few other books open as well to various continents. Hey, he had to think big. They could be literally anywhere. Though he had a strong feeling they were at least in America. He also found a couple new maps detailing cities of New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Vegas. Those must have been specifically picked. So chances were high that it was to be one of those four places. But first they had to go over the map of the whole country. Then they could use the scrying on the other maps to narrow it down further. So he sat on the middle of the floor, atlas books around him and opened up, all ready for when his sister would show up with the crystal. He was determined to find them with her help.

"True, but I'd rather not think about that." Because really, she well knew what usually consisted of her parents spending time together. Patty wasn't exactly a prude, but when it came to her parents? Yeah, she'd rather think about more platonic things. At Alex's question, Patty went into thought, remembering what the date was today. "Um...yeah, Valentine's was Tuesday, I believe. Which...oh god." She glanced at the clock and hoped to anyone who was listening that Alex wouldn't project in on something he shouldn't see, and would undoubtedly be better off not seeing. "I remember mom saying something about a trip like that once. Didn't listen to the whole thing, though. So uh, just cover your eyes when you first appear, and if there's something icky going on, come back here. We can totally try a teleportation spell." Because she, too, wasn't going to bother Mel to take them, not with Patrick here.

She nodded a bit as Alex explained his plan. She knew he practiced with it a lot, but even with that, projecting a couple states over was a stretch. But all they needed was a couple minutes for him to get his point across. "Just, be careful, all right? I'll make sure everything stays okay on this end, but if I start tugging at you, do me a favor and listen and come back, okay?" She set her hand on his shoulder, giving him a little worried look. It was rare for it to show, but she was worried for her brother. "And tell mom to use a teleportation spell or something to get back here. I'm not going to sit and wait another day or two for them to drive back here." Patty really hoped that it would be enough time to get through to their parents, she well knew they both could be incredibly stubborn and unwilling to believe sometimes. Mostly from her own personal experience, but she'd seen it happen with others on occasion.

"Right, got it. Cover eyes first. Then talk." Alex made a disgust type of expression at the mere idea of it. Right.. that would be bad, walking in on that sort of thing. And given this particular holiday? He didn't want to think about it, because when he had thoughts, he also had an imagination, and.. no. Not always a good thing. But on the bright side? It was the day after. Ohh, who was he kidding, this was their parents after all! He'd be cautious anyway. Plus he only had a few minutes so it should be fast and to the point.

He gave a slow nod then and reached for her hand. "Okay, I will. I'll come back if you tug, or if something else happens." He really hoped it would go nicely. This so wasn't how he imagined spending his time tonight. It shouldn't even be, since normally his parents knew him after having him around fifteen years. This was utterly and completely, very new territory. "And the spell, got it. I'll tell her to include it for them and whatever they drove in." He just had to get through to them and convince them of who he was. He hoped that would be easy enough. He knew plenty of family history on both sides, anyway. It would have to do. So, after taking a few breaths to relax, he felt lightness in him, weightless. He looked down. Eyes nearly shut, in a sudden meditative state, like he was no longer present. Because.. he really wasn't. Only in the physical sense was he still here with his sister.

==========

It was quite the nice hotel room. Apparently the type the VIPs and Presidents would rent out. It was decorated in such detail for the previous day's festivities. There was the heart shaped bed with petals on and around it. The dressers with nearly empty wine bottles. A minibar. Bouquet of roses on several tables. Damien was sitting in a chair looking through the menu for room service, while Prue was sitting nearby, probably reading or watching TV. And then, Alexander Halliwell-Thorn suddenly appeared as if from nothing, wearing jeans, dark shirt, and jean jacket. Oh, and yes, hands covering his eyes. He slowly removed them and sighed with relief. Good! Yes, it would have been very embarrassing had he projected himself the day before.

He quickly held up his hands as he saw Damien rise to his feet, as well as Prue's startled reaction. But hopefully she would recognize his method of appearance as astral projection. "Wait, I'm here to help! I only have a few minutes.. it's a strain even now. But I'm your son! No, I wasn't a girl before, I'm actually your girl's younger brother.. my name is Alexander Halliwell-Thorn. Her name is Patricia." He looked at Damien with a smirk. "Nope, you totally didn't get away with naming me Belial, Natas, Beelz, Abaddon, Mammon, Dahak, or whatever. My middle name is actually Mark. I think you'd know why.."

Damien himself was a bit agitated. Was this guy for real? Seriously? But it was odd, he had the last name, a name which only himself and Prue had decided upon for the marriage arrangements. And he had thought of those names for a boy; although, he hadn't really planned to, it was more of a joke. And the boy's features did look alarmingly similar to himself. And these were words he liked to hear. Plus, the kid had great clothing choice too. He approved, really. Still.. he was prepared to lay the smack down if this was another trick. And by lay the smack down, meaning kick some ass and then Prue using TK to fling him around the walls a few times. It was also a bit unfortunate that neither he or Prue had yet to check the boards from Lawrence today, so this was a very real surprise. "Um, Prue? What do you think? Because I gotta say, kinda freaking out here.."

"Good boy," she replied with a little smirk. After all, the last thing Alex needed was to be scarred for life by anything unsavory their parents might be doing. And considering it was Valentine's week and knowing their parents, giving a warning would be the best thing. Patty watched him closely as he astral projected himself to Chicago. She wasn't expecting anything bad to happen on this end, the complex was safe, as their parents had told her. The only bad that could happen was in Alex's physical body, so she kept a close eye, for any potential signs of stress that she'd have to do something about. And she really hoped he had the magic words to get their parents back here within the few minutes, otherwise they'd have to use a teleportation method.

========

Thankfully the Seal had been quiet and Hell hadn't broken loose, allowing Prue to fully enjoy the vacation in Chicago. The concert had been really good, and the sight-seeing they'd managed to do when it wasn't Valentine's Day had been good, too. Though currently, Prue was reading, recovering from the previous days events, which were amazing and breathing-taking, to say the least. She was enjoying the peace before they ordered room service, at least until they had an unexpected visitor.

She'd seen the boy materialize out of the corner of her eye, her head snapping up and a moment later she was on her feet, her book on the floor. She raised her hand to fling him backwards, but she was stopped in mid-motion as the boy spoke to them. Blinking in surprise, she wondered if he was telling the truth. It took a minute to actually digest the fact Alexander had introduced himself as their son and that they also had a daughter. Okay, wow. Just. Wow. As soon as the shock faded a bit, Prue crossed her arms, looking the boy up and down. He hadn't attacked them, but that didn't mean he wasn't trying to set a trap for them.

Glancing at Damien, she looked back at Alexander. "How are we supposed to know this isn't some trick? You didn't attack when you clearly had the advantage of knowing where to find us. But this could be a trap. So what are you? A demon sent here by someone we pissed off? Something else?" Because yes, while Alexander resembled Damien and had her married name, that still didn't exactly make her trust what he was saying. She'd been tricked too many times before, gone through too much to just blindly trust someone that suddenly materialized in the hotel room. She kept her gaze fixed on Alexander, just waiting for him to make one wrong move so she could fling him backwards into the wall.

Alex was panicking inside now, but took a few breaths to stay calm. This was dangerous! He knew his mother's power. And his father's. Just one wrong move. Or hell, one too many cocky remarks. Why did he even agree to this? Oh, right. Because it was the best way. And it was also his idea anyway. Or partly. "Umm, well.. finding you was really Patty's idea. I was gonna just ask the board. Buuuut... turns out we can scry. It's a witch thing we can do. But another reason I found you both, I'm just that awesome." He didn't move toward either of them, since he knew any sudden motion might provoke a reaction he didn't want. And to think, grounding was the worst he had been worried for. He wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead. "You named Patricia after your mother. She was killed by a warlock named Jeremy, and that always affected you.. and you have this issue with death about family."

He added, looking at Damien, then back to Prue. "Well.. ah, the demon thing. Sort of. I mean, technically my grandpa is Satan. So I'm kind of a demon. And my dad is the Antichrist. By the way, Pop, you have a 666 mark under your scalp. So, erm.. I'm half witch and Antichrist too. Err, but, umm.. uhh, it's all good cuz I'm not the Source of All Evil? Of Rock, maybe Source of Coolness and Good Looks, but not Evil. Except that time I jokingly offered to bring disco back." He started breathing a little heavy at that moment, then took a breath to keep control, clenching and un-clenching his fists repeatedly, holding firmly to the couch nearby to keep control. He had to hurry soon. "This? Astral projection. But.. uhh.. body in Lawrence. It's straining. Never been this far away. Patty said you can do a transport spell, maybe for your car too? Not just me and her. So many others here with us. But, umm, basically you all won and sent Satan back to the Pit."

Prue was very suspicious, she wasn't about to let her and Damien walk into a trap. The little bit of bravado she heard didn't exactly sway Prue to believing Alexander's story. At least until he mentioned the thing about her mother. Even now, it was still a sore subject for her, perhaps even moreso than it was back home considering she knew what fate awaited her if she ever returned to her world. Her eyes widened as she felt her chest tighten a bit, the memory of her mother's lifeless body being put into a body bag. How could this boy know that? Was he telling the truth? Was he really her future son? And did she really have a future daughter? Or he could be psychic and was just using things against both her and Damien.

At least until he mentioned the 666 mark Damien had. All right, Prue could count on one hand how many people here knew that. But she was far more inclined to believe he was telling the truth now. But she wasn't letting her guard down just yet. She glanced over at Damien. "I have to say, he does know things only you and I really know. What do you think? Should we believe him?" While she was past the point of throwing the boy through the wall, she wasn't going to let her guard down until she found this wasn't a trap. Did she want to believe he was her son and her daughter was waiting for them in Lawrence? Of course she did. Knowing that she had future children with Damien was very reassuring to her. It told her that she had a future here, that she was happy, and that she lived here. Right now she wasn't caring if the future was a good one or a bad one, all that mattered is that she apparently would get to have the life here that she would never have in her own world.

Alex saw his mother's expression and thought maybe he had gone a little far in trying to show how he knew things about them. The look in his own eyes looked like grief for a moment, so he glanced down and spoke quietly. "Umm.. I, uhh.. sorry. I shouldn't say that.. why do I keep messing up.." He felt a little strained at the moment then. It shows in how he seemed more tense, gripping one hand to the couch as if it was a bad move to let go. He felt a hand holding his, a light squeeze. But no. It.. oh, right. Maybe that was a feeling from his body in Kansas. "Damn, going two states out was a very bad idea." He then looked at Damien. Then slowly back to Prue. "Please decide quickly. Please? I have to get back soon. I don't know how much longer I can stay." Hopefully it wouldn't make his physical self ill. "I should say. My future. The Croat virus? Never happened. Lucifer was stopped. Also? Mel and Adam have a son named Patrick. I guess the family sorta continues a tradition of naming their children after a certain alphabet letter. I got my name because it was what Mark would have named his own son, had he lived to have one. There were a few tragedies in Dad's life. But you, Mo- I mean, Prue. Being with you saved him."

---

Damien listened intently at the entire thing that was going on. He could tell that Prue really wanted to believe what they were being told. He did too. Though he noticed the young man seemed regretful at Prue reaction about her own mother, as if Alex was sorry about saying the wrong thing. It was strange, like.. he really was a son who had caused offense by going too far. But he also noticed that the boy seemed to be holding on and having a hard time of it. He was curious at the mention of Patrick, as well as Patricia. The zombie future didn't happen? Good. And everything else the teen said after that had truth to it. Especially about why he would choose to name him Alexander. No one, not even Prue, had known that. Obviously not yet, as neither Alex nor the daughter was even conceived yet. Unless last night.. well, no. He had more important things to focus upon. Plus, the kid did have their married last name, when the wedding was a couple months away.

"I think so," he said to Prue. "He does seem to know things only we know. Plus, Mel and Adam don't have any kids.. yet, you know. But using the P in your family happens a lot, from what you told me about history. We should also count the fact that.. well, look at him. He astral projected himself to us. He may have got that from you. From me.. well, anything. Maybe the affecting surroundings, the healing, or maybe even mind control or something. I don't think Patty has projection, or she would be here too." Damien then stepped closer to Prue and reached for her hand, giving a light and comforting squeeze. "I think he's real. We, yes, we should trust him. So maybe you could write up a spell to say when we get to our car, to transport us and it back in the complex parking lot?" He figured they should do it soon. Or at the least, let Alex know it was fine to return back to his physical body. It seemed to be a bit strenuous as time went by.

Of course Patty hadn't thought it would take thirty seconds to convince younger, unmarried versions of their parents to trust Alex, but as the seconds ticked by, she grew increasingly more worried. She kept hold of her brother's hand, watching his physical body. The astral projection power had always been strange for her to watch when Alex and their mom used it. She understood the basics of how it worked, but the physical toll it could take was a little out of her comprehension. She'd never seen her mother use it to this degree, so it was hard to say whether Alex was straining or not. His physical body was merely asleep. But she glanced at the clock again. A couple minutes had passed all ready.

"Come on, Alex. You're worrying me here. Hurry up and say the magic words." Not that he could hear her, but Patty felt the need to express that where no one could hear her. She had always kept her emotions close to her heart, much like Prue had done when she was younger. Finally, she couldn't stand it anymore and she gave Alex's hand a squeeze. "Hey, I know you probably can't hear me, but you should really come back soon. Soon as in now." Because he was stretching himself well beyond what she knew he was capable of doing. It was dangerous to do that for longer than a couple minutes.

------------

Prue listened to Alex, seeing the regretfulness enter his voice and body language. Now she was thinking perhaps he was telling the truth. His words about her mother hadn't exactly been crossing the line, it was just more of the fact Prue would always hate thinking of how her mother had died. It had affected her so deeply and changed the course of her entire life. It hadn't been until the year before she would die in her world that she even found what she really wanted in life. She'd finally pursued her love of photography as a career. The only thing she lacked was love, but she'd found that in this world, with Damien. And as Alex said that her being with Damien had saved him, she couldn't help but smile, looking over at Damien.

"That is true. It's hard to pick up on the P thing unless you've been around and know that history." Prue looked back at Alex, able to tell how hard it was for him to keep his astral self sustained here. "I'm seriously impressed he can project himself this far." She paused, taking a moment to consider that. When Damien took her hand, she looked back at him and nodded. "Yes, we should." Knowing the strain astral projection had, she looked back at Alex. "I'll write that spell and we'll meet you back in Lawrence in a few minutes. Are you at the complex?" Well, that would be obvious considering Patricia had scryed for them, which required things of theirs to complete. The only question was which apartment they should go to when they got there. All ready, Prue was starting to think of a spell that would teleport them back there. No need to bother Mel for this. There was no telling if her niece had gotten caught with someone from the future.
