"Owe the Starks?" Cersei scoffed. She had never heard anything so ridiculous in her entire life. "We owe them nothing and don't you forget that." She fell silent for a moment, the wheels inside of her head turning. "Although if she must stay with us.. she could be good reason to keep the rest of the Starks in line should they come here." She was always wheeling and dealing, trying to figure out how to make any situation to her advantage. "Yes, she should stay." Though she still wasn't sure she liked the idea of Arya and Joff being close, if that was what was going on. Who knew what was going on in her absence.
"I need to see him," Cersei said suddenly. "He needs to hear from me why I kept it from him. I need to make sure he really understands." Cersei was in a bit of a panic over her son, but after a few moments of silence she was finally able to stand up straight and regain her composure. "I know you take care of our son, Jaime. I know that," she started. "But the idea that he has gone through so much without me here? It's too much." Cersei could feel the tears welling up behind her eyes. "I've always been there to protect him when he needed it, but not this time. Not this time."
Cersei heaved a deep sigh and ran her hands down the front of her dress. She hated being exposed like that out in the street. Sure, she had her brother there to watch over her, but she was used to so much more. She felt almost naked and her desire for him was more than she could handle when she felt so helpless. "Take me home, Jaime. I cannot abide this place any longer," and with that she took Jaime's arm again and set off down the street.
