He knew she didn't understand, how could she? He had taken just as long to figure this insane world and his place in it out. And he had had to tend to Joffery, the boy king, his son. A son he'd never really been able to acknowledge or claim for obvious reasons. But now that Cersei was here maybe they could finally be as they were meant to be, a family. Maybe he could walk down a street with his sister, hold her hand, kiss her. Have her be his, and be hers, as they were long since meant to be. But she was unnerved and first he would have to calm her, explain all of this properly. If that were even possible.
"Yes, we've been here. But it's been fine, we are safe, we have money enough to last us. We were, its confusing Cersei, but we were able to wish for anything in the world we wanted, and it would not let me wish for you. Some rule or other. So I wished for enough gold to keep myself and Joffery contented. Those notes I left are the currency here. And yes it is strange but I know you Cersei Lannister. You will come to understand this world. You will do well here, as you would anywhere"
He lead her out of the cafe and walked her down the street, keeping their hands interlocked, she needed the assurance. "And you will do so with me at your side." he continued as they moved down the street toward the building Joffery called his palace. "I do yes, You named me Lord Commander of the Kingsguard did you not. Where was my place in this strange world if not with the King." he told her with a smile. "I'll take you to Joffery, but I believe we should talk ourselves before you speak to him. We have time, and there are things to discuss, many things."
Yes, he knew. He'd known for a while, and while he didn't talk about it much to Jaime, maybe he would to his mother. They were closer, they had always been closer than Jaime had been, had allowed to be, to any of his children.
"He will be pleased to see you though. I believe he has missed you a great deal."
