When Helena sighed Adler wasn't entirely sure what to do. One could say she's lost her baby, in a way - wasn't that what Sherlock compared her glance at the safe to? - but it wasn't comparable, really. So instead of responding directly she simply reached across the table and squeezed her hand gently for a moment in sympathy. "Time with friends is always good. I find myself missing people I didn't properly consider when at home, now that they're not around."
When H.G. ordered Irene found herself nodding in approval. Earl Grey had always been a bit too delicate for her, but it was a good English choice. And when she mentioned her job Irene couldn't help but smile. Direct and straight to the point; she liked that. "I was indeed. Saying 'top secret' around me is like waving a red flag at a bull; I simply must find out more. So please, do tell, I'm all ears."
