Irene Adler ([info]makethembeg) wrote in [info]wariscoming,
Adler returned the smile without hesitation. "Very interesting. If a little unbelievable, but considering the quantity of proof that this is not my world, I've decided to accept it. Not that I've seen any sign of the apocalypse yet, but between the books about Sherlock, the Joker running rampant around the city, and people like Ronald Weasley responding to the coms, it seems possible."

When Irene saw the look in Helena's eyes she regretted her question immediately, but there was no way to retract it. Instead she simply replied sympathetically "I'm sorry it's not what you hoped for, truly. But they say that the seal often sends people back; perhaps think of this as an interim period, before you see her again?" She didn't believe in an afterlife, herself, but it obviously wasn't the right time to discuss that.

She watched Wells survey the cakes and laughed slightly. "I know, it is surprising isn't it? Lexi brought me here when we went shopping and I was pleasantly shocked."

A waitress arrived to take their order as she talked, and waited patiently for Irene to finish. "I'll have an English Breakfast tea and" she paused contemplatively "the strawberry sponge cake, thank you."
