Sam caught the look that she gave him and he immediately found himself looking down. It was hard keeping eye contact up with someone as pretty as she was. To think that a girl, any girl, would bother with him was a waste. They'd likely split paths soon enough anyway and Sam didn't want to bother getting attached to someone that he'd probably never see again. That's what he had learned the hard way with the way that he and Dean moved from school to school all the time. Don't bother making any friends. It was a waste of time.
"Uh, I liked Texas," Sam said, shrugging, "it's warm there. I dunno - I think it's all pretty much the same now. By the time you go from one place to the other..." He squinted off at her, frowning. "It all turns into a blur."
