He took the bag and held it close, watching the woman cautiously though the gap in the door. He didn't recognize her. Sam wasn't going to let her in until she explained and proved that she wasn't out to harm either of them. The bag in his hands felt heavy with the gun tucked away inside, but Sam didn't much care. It was easier this way. He'd be able to manage a quick draw if something went badly. Sam wasn't the best shot in the world, but he could still hit a moving target if he had to and he was getting better and better with practice.
"I said who are y -" Ordinary Princess. Sam rolled his eyes immediately. It was embarrassing. That was the first book that he had ever read. Ordinary Princess. Uncle Bobby, Dad, and Dean always got a good laugh out of it. Whatever, it was a fantastic book.
"Okay," Sam said after a pause. The door slammed shut in her face. Sam looked over at Ruby and nodded. "She's safe. My Uncle Bobby sent her." That said, he reached for the chain and slid it off the hook. The door swung back open, granting the lady access to the room.
