Some time had passed since Sam arrived. He was sitting at the table, trying to figure out how the strange phone in his hands worked when someone knocked at the door. Shooting Ruby a warning look, Sam hopped up from the chair, pocketed the phone, and crept over to the door. He wasn't tall enough to see through the peephole, so he unlocked it and left the chain on in a similar fashion to the way that Ruby herself had earlier. Peeking out through the crack in the door, he found himself looking at a blonde woman. He didn't recognize her, so Sam held tight to the doorknob. There was no way that he was letting some stranger in here. Sam was smart enough to know that one shouldn't trust people that they didn't know. Especially when he was raised by John Winchester.
"Hey," Sam glanced over his shoulder, looking back to Ruby once more, "can you pass me my bag?" The gun from the room he had woken in was inside. He wasn't going to pull it out like an idiot, but Sam sure as heck wasn't going to take any chances on letting anything bad happen under his watch.
Looking back through the crack again, Sam looked off at the woman with a frown. "Who are you?"
