It was a cellphone, why was he looking weird at a cellphone. She had one, right in her pocket and yet the way Sam looked at it was like he'd never seen one before. Was he Amish or something?. No he couldn't be he'd been all big on computers, it was how he'd found her. She glanced at it and then at him for a moment sipping on her soda. He'd known what phones were but not this kind, which was weird.
"Its just a cellphone, its nothing fancy" she finally said with a slight shrug but didn't want to go into it more than that, maybe he'd just never had one. So she'd leave it and just wait to be brought somewhere safe with him, and then maybe she could properly ask about the lack of knowledge of cellphones.
Sam went on talking about his Uncle and Ruby nodded along with him, "I believe you" and she did, lack of knowledge of cellphones and all, she believed him when he said she'd be safe.
"So until my parents come get me, can I stay with you?" she asked finally.
