Who:Dick and Damian What:Dick finally gets time in his motel and finds two surprises. When: This morning. Where:Motel 6 in a shady part of town. Warnings: Bat brooding?
Dick had finally finished up patrolling around 7am when the sun rose. He could have spent more time out on the streets, but daylight made hiding a bit more difficult. Plus he was more of a night person anyway. Maybe he would be able to finally catch some sleep if he got in early enough. The graveyard shift was a bitch sometimes. Especially considering his new funfilled location. As if it wasn't bad enough that the Apocalypse was breathing down their necks, now they had the Joker to deal with. He hadn't even really had time to process anything. Still he kept his cool. There was no reason to freak out right? 78 Hours without sleep, he'd seen worse, Batman had put him through worse to test his stamina. He could do this. It wasn't like he had much choice.
Sliding open a window he slipped into his room and crossed the small living room to the kitchen where he put out a pot of coffee and reached for a mug to set out beside it. The room was dank and smelled vaguely aged. He tried not to let it get to him. He was used to a little higher standard, but with his assets unavailable he had to make due with what he had. He used the last of his cash to strap for the one room motel and hadn't hardly even seen the inside of it until now. Probably for the best really. It was badly lit and hard on the eyes for the average person, not to mention a few cobwebs in the corners of the rooms. The place had seen better days. It wasn't really like Dick was in it for long. At least that's what he kept telling himself anyway.
Letting the coffee brew, he headed for the shower and stripped of his suit. At least the room had warm water, that was really more then he was expecting for a place like this. It made his aches and pains melt away and finally brought on a sense of exhaustion he'd been fighting. He hadn't been expecting company so he let his guard drop some as his hair matted against his face.
