"I think it's mostly random. There's also been things the seal has pulled through that somehow just disappear after a period of time. Like a year or so ago we had an invasion of giant bugs from space. They were everywhere and then one day, they weren't. So it could be some random combination of being totally random and deciding things have outlived their usefulness." It at least put some perspective and reason into an otherwise non-sensical happening around this place.
"That is the beauty of friends, isn't it?" Elphaba smiled gently. She'd never seen the silver lining until she'd met Galinda. "It was one of the things I loved most about Oz. Animals were always nice to me, and I to them. Then things went wrong, animals started losing the ability to speak because they were being caged. Guess it only goes to show good things don't always last." She shook her head slightly to try and keep herself from thinking too much about the Wizard. "Galinda is completely endearing and wonderful, but she's just too much to take when she consume caffeine like that. I keep decaf in the house now, but she still gets the caffeinated kind when she goes to work. It's rather disconcerting."
