Galen felt a strong surge of disrespect rise for the Jedi and Sith as Jacen spoken. But he kept his face schooled and void of showing how he felt. But he understood Jacen. Galen had tasted both the Dark Side as Darth Vader's apprentice and the Light Side with Kota. Neither side was for him yet both were. As Jacen said, it only needed to be tempered for the use he needed it for. Confining such a vast thing was ridiculous and foolhardy.
Galen's eyes drifted to the two lightsabers at Jacen's belt. At the question, the former apprentice lifted his eyes to Jacen's. "Either. Both. They're the different sides to the same coin. Whichever you need to use to get the job done is the one to use." Galen didn't care if that was the answer Jacen sought or not. That was what came to his mind and made the most sense. Why should it matter if one used a red lightsaber or not? They both did the same feats. Able to cut through nearly anything except Cortosis. And both versions of lightsabers needed incredible skill to use and master without losing a finger at the minimum, if not more.
His fingers barely brushed the pouch at his belt that held the red crystal that had been held in his own lightsaber for years. Now the color of his blade was blue, but did it truly matter? A weapon was a weapon. It was neither good nor evil until used.
"I did not know you as Darth Caedus. I only know you as the Force user you are now. And with everything you've said here, I can't help but agree with. Picking and choosing what to use of the Force is foolhardy and a handicap. The lightning has saved my life numerous times. To have forgone it because of pride in the Light Side would have been fatal."
