Galen had felt Jacen approach but he didn't let it distract him from his task until the lightsaber was once more solid again. He lt it drop into his waiting hand and replaced it at his side as he stood and faced the other man. He noticed how Jacen stood, taking in all the minute details. He could see parts of Vader in that stance but he kept his emotions in check.
"He did. Kota only reaffirmed that this was how lightsabers are made by Jedi. So they are part of the Jedi I believe he said." And while Galen might have designed the hilt for his weapon, it really hadn't felt like his until he had made it himself. He could still feel the red crystal Vader had sent him to find in that death trap in a pouch on his belt.
He shrugged off the praise Jacen gave him for the Alliance. "The Emperor and Vader made it be their own downfall. I only saved the leaders after betraying them without realizing." And that was true, at least how Galen saw it. As Jacen asked his next question, Galen took pause to ponder it. No one had ever asked him that. Vader saw the Force as a weapon, with only the Dark Side being embraced to kill and bend others to your will. Kota saw the Force as a guiding light meant to protect the weak and fight the corrupt. But what did he believe the Force was?
"I believe the Force can be used for anything and people will try to bend it to their beliefs," he said after several minutes of contemplation. "Vader and the Emperor saw it as a weapon to subdue the galaxy. Kota saw it as a weapon to fight people like Vader and the Emperor." He felt as if that wasn't the greatest of answers but it was the most truthful one he could think of. As an afterthought, he added, "I don't really know what to believe about the Force. Vader only taught me what he deemed was necessary to teach me. Kota was only willing to show me his version of the Force."
