Svetlana wasn't the only one that had missed this. Anatoly had missed it as well. Of course he hadn't realized it until recently, but the point was that he did realize it now. It was only one more thing that he'd lost in the price he'd paid to pride. But at least now, he could share this once again with Svetlana and rebuild the foundations of their relationship. It was reminiscent of having originally built their relationship together, only now it was more a matter of re-finding what they all ready knew about the other, of working through the pain and anger the past five years had put between them.
"Perhaps I did. Your hair is rather normal-looking." He smiled behind his cup as he sipped his tea.
Anatoly was glad that no one around them knew Russian to eaves drop on their conversation. No doubt anyone that did would be confused and probably think they were incredibly strange, but Anatoly and Svetlana had never had a normal sense of humor. They both liked the out-of-left-field comments and quips, and no matter how far out of left field the comments came, they managed to follow along well enough. There were undoubtedly times when not even they really knew what they were joking about, but as long as they made the other laugh or smile? It was considered a job well done.
"You know I've been thinking, one of these days we could take the girls to see a movie." This was, of course, allowing for lack of crazy happening. But there were some movies out that the girls seemed interested in. And a family outing would do them all good. They just needed to carefully plan and judge on the activity in the city for when that would happen. Truth be told, Anatoly had been looking into things they could do as a family lately. Museums may not be the girls' cup of tea, but he'd found some interesting ideas.
