"So long as you know that." Still smirking, Svetlana just shook her head some. Really. Anytime Anatoly tried to be intimidating, it amused her because it always fell flat and in the end, she was the one to deal with the annoying pursuer. There had been one time when Anatoly had actually tried to lay claim on Svetlana and it had ended up with her refusing to talk to him for a week after she had slapped him. In fact, even Dmitri had been shocked by that but still her brother had helped Anatoly make it up to her and to prove that he really wasn't like the idiots who usually tried for her attention. Erik hadn't been amused because he had hoped that Anatoly would leave Svetlana alone after that but that hadn't been the case.
"I suppose not..." She couldn't blame him. It seemed this place more than others tried to put emphasis on being intimidating and the 'better' man in physical attributes. But those never really interested Svetlana. Not in Russia and not here. It was the heart of the man, his actions. That had been what had caused Svetlana to fall for Anatoly. Because he was so different than the others. She already knew why she had refused to let go of him, knew that if she did, she'd close her heart forever and she didn't want to live that way. But it was moments like this, just them sitting and drinking tea that reminded her of the past. Perhaps she was codependent in her own way. Not in the need for a man in her life to be able to survive so that she jumped from relationship to relationship just to have that. But instead, she needed Anatoly to survive. Oh, she could do it on her own, she had while he'd been distant, but to truly live? That was something else entirely.
The joke was startling as they hadn't really done anything of that sort since the alternate reality incident. Still she just quirked a brow at that then shrugged.
"Well yes, didn't you know? Beyond being able to see into the souls of people, I am also very intimidating. I simply have to look at someone before they run off."
While some might think she was being sarcastic, Svetlana really was just teasing Anatoly. After all, she was far from intimidating. She was just an ice queen. That crass Americans felt like pestering because they had no manners to save their lives. She didn't know how they could live as such but no matter. For those situations, she'd be deadpan and sarcastic until they left. Or until Anatoly tried to be intimidating before she just finally dismissed them. It wasn't that uncommon from the past, really.
