Joker wants to know why so serious? ([info]kill_joke) wrote in [info]wariscoming,

Entry tags:poison ivy, the joker

Who: The Joker and whoever comes across him if any dare to
What: The Clown Prince of Crime arrives in Lawrence
Where: Criminal spots in Lawrence
When: Evening of the 19th, late
Rating PG-13. The Joker is not a nice man =D

The Joker was use to strange. He saw it whenever he looked in a mirror. But this was by far the strangest thing he had yet to come across. After all, he had been in Gotham City working on a master plan that would truly push the Batman to the limit. And it was going to be a glorious execution of his plan. He couldn't wait to see how much he got the Batman to break.

But now, he was in a strange new place. Somewhere extremely...dull. But he didn't mind. Strange things happened. But for now, he would make the most of where he was. Surely he could attract the Batman's attention even in this boring hell hole of a town. But right now, he needed more information on where he was. So, he set off in search of the usual dark places that he knew thugs loved to hide in.

Spotting a few thugs, he grinned and sauntered over. When the kids started making jokes about him trying to impersonate the Joker, he frowned. Clearly these fools didn't know better. He'd make sure they knew to fear him. Grabbing the leader, he pulled a knife out and grinned darkly. "I'm not a fool trying to impersonate the Joker. I AM the Joker." And with those words he gave the man a nice wide smile from ear to ear.

Joker glanced at the other three men who suddenly looked appropriately scared. That was good of them. "Get the word out. This is my town now. It's time for a little agressive expansion. Get your friends and tell them they work for me now." He needed to make sure that everyone else knew it now. He watched the men go running and grinned. So now it was off to the hardware store to pick up some much needed materials. He needed to start working on making sure he had enough of his Joker gas, not to mention, nothing said a serious player was in town than a few explosions.

She couldn't help it. That moment of rebellion against the impositions struck down on her from stupid violent bird and future bat had been a taste of what she'd been missing in life. She wanted to survive. But she wanted to take down the greedy corporate bastards who didn't care about the destruction they were causing. Because it wasn't just not knowing. Oh no, they knew the risks and did it anyway. Really, they deserved to get what was coming to them. She just.. was limited in killing them. In that she couldn't kill them. At least, not without getting unwanted attention from certain vigilantes and well, survival was important at the moment. Someone had to keep watch of Harley. The plants needed her. So sacrificing herself for the cause wasn't really in her cards at the moment.

But there was nothing about other people killing the bastards. And she was oh so good at getting people to do just what she wanted. And they would have no idea and no clue. She would make them kill others, just to make it not tie back to her. So it was going into the underbelly of Lawrence to find some grunt workers to do the dirty work. Oh, she had heard through the plants of a man named Moriarty putting his name out, of the gangs seeming to be rather terrified of him. So. He was to run the underground criminal nation? So be it. She could borrow some brutes, she'd allow them to do as he said. And do what she wanted. She was sharing like that.

Or she could round a corner and see some idiot with a smile carved in their face freaking out.

"You have got to be kidding me."

"Lady, get back, some fucking weirdo is parading around as the Joker and he's crazy enough to pull it off!"

The comment came from the guy helping the face carved guy.

"Which way did he go?"

"Are you insane?!"

"Perhaps. Which way?"

Despite the shock on their faces, both gang members pointed in the direction the Joker went and she left, eyes narrowed. Like hell was she letting this bastard near Harley and she was immune to his Joker gas so he couldn't use that against him. And there he was, all smug and crazy as ever.

"Well well well. You decided to show your ugly face as well?" Was it dangerous to insult the Joker? Of course it was, but Ivy was less than thrilled by the development. She mostly stuck to herself and worked on plants and getting fresh vegetables to the orphanage. But the Joker? This she'd take an interest in because it meant saving Harley.

These stores in this town were so...lax. It was boring. There was no challenge. No artistry he could do. But it did mean he had already procured a few guns and clips. Now all he needed were the chemicals he needed to make more Joker gas and this town would definitely get livelier. Or at least look better with everyone smiling.

Before he could go further on his endevour of shopping, he heard an all too familiar voice. He turned and gave a small smirk. "Well well well indeed little Ivy," he grinned. "What brings you to this odd little corner of a drab city? There's no disgusting plants around for you to fondle, so that can't be why."

If the Joker cared about pissing Ivy off, he didn't show it. They had a strong mutual dislike (or was it hatred? Such things were so hard to keep track of) of each other. "Don't tell me this is where you've set up shop now, so far away from the Batman. Or did you find yourself here all of a sudden like me?"

He brushed some loose strands of his green hair aside and moved closer to Ivy. Oh he knew what little he had left of his Joker gas wouldn't work on her. Ivy was a walking venom/poison machine, just like he was.

"You wouldn't happen to want to help an old friend out, would you?" During his talking, the Joker had placed his hands in his pockets before removing them, his specialized hand buzzer in place and ready to shock in case Ivy tried something.

"Heard talk that a crazy man was running around claiming to be the Joker and was just crazy enough to pull it off so I had to investigate." Shrugging nonchalantly, Ivy just leaned against the brick building she was near, arms crossed over her chest. Oh, she wasn't an idiot. The Joker fought dirty, they all did. There was no common ground amongst them beyond their dislike of Batman, but honestly to Ivy? Batman was nothing more than an annoyance. Besides, Bruce Wayne had helped her be normal when she thought her powers were hurting the children under her care. Not like it lasted but still.

"No one is here of their own volition. Biblical seal, apocalypse, boring things like that." Waving her hand in the air in boredom as she gave a very brief overview of the situation, Ivy kept her gaze on Joker. Never trust a clown who puts his hands in his pockets. She wouldn't go near him, but there were plants near by she could use to fight with if necessary. Of course, his comment about helping an old friend out just had the red headed woman scoff.

"We have never been friends and I'd sooner see you dead than help you." Oh, Ivy could play nice when she wanted to, but with the Joker she really had no desire to play nice. In fact, she really would prefer to just kill him here and now. She was pretty certain that Jason and Terry would let this particular murder slide. And if she had to, she'd claim self defense for them and Harley. But if she could keep the bastard away from Harley, that was what she'd do. Which was why she wasn't going to mention the blond.

"Good luck running the underground here, there's already someone doing it and he's smarter than you'll ever be."

"Aww Ivy, you hurt my feelings with those harsh words of yours," he returned before giving off a bit of his patent psychotic laugh. "So...I got chosen to come here for the apocalypse. Now THAT is funny!" So long as the Joker got to keep inflicting misery and pain in beautiful, artistic ways, he didn't care about what was going on. All he wanted was the Batman to torture if Hell came to Earth.

"Oh Ivy Ivy Ivy. Smarter doesn't mean better. Besides, where would the challenge be if there wasn't someone I had to kill for control of this town? It sounds like the Batman isn't here so there needs to be a challenge else it's just boring."

He could see Ivy staying clear of him and he smirked a bit. Oh she really didn't trust him at all. Not that he cared. But it seemed she wouldn't be helping him take over this town. Not that he minded. If she had helped, he would just end up killing her in the end anyways for complete control.

"Well my sweet, poisonous woman," he said as sultry as he could, "I need to be off to make sure everyone's appreciating my jokes. Unless you have some sweet sweet parting words for your old Arkham buddy?" he giggled.

The laugh, meant to strike fear into people, just annoyed Ivy and she rolled her eyes. He was crazy and volatile, but that didn't mean Ivy had to fear him. He was like all the other crazies, no matter what he might try to claim. Original? Please. No one was original.

"Oh yes, quite hilarious."

And while the Joker might laugh and make a show of himself, Ivy was more subdued. Subtle. And right now, her voice had been in deadpan as really, it wasn't funny at all. In fact it was stupid. The Seal really had no idea what it was doing. Did it want help in causing destruction or help? Because mostly it brought forth the heroes, or people willing to fight for the heroes. Then there were those like herself and Harley who were trying to walk the straight and narrow but were more neutral and then the few crazies. Some claimed there was reason for each of the displaced but she didn't buy it.

"Mm."

That was all he got out of her in regards to the comment on smarter not meaning better. Her money was on Moriarty in this just because she would set aside her differences with the bird to put Joker out of their lives and he never could stay under ground to get away with things for long. Always needed a show, always needed to brag.

"Get out of town. Those are my parting words for you. But I doubt you'll listen, to enjoy digging your own grave."

With that, Ivy used the plants to tie Joker up until she got away. Like hell was she trusting him to let her leave without trying to attack her. Now she had to set aside her pride to tell Jason about this and find a way to keep this from Harley. And things just got complicated.

Get out of town? This was his town now. Oh sure he could go galloping across the nation on a crime spree and truly build an empire, but for now, he wanted to focus on Lawrence. But then that bitch Ivy tied him up in vines until he had no doubt she was long gone. Well fine then. Two could play this game. He would make sure she suffered when he killed her.

Getting free of the vines finally, he smoothed his coat out before resuming his journey. He still had shopping to do. Not to mention finding a place to hide out in. But, he had all night. And really, what were a few bodies along the way? All that mattered was the spectacle of it all.
