Ivy really was trying to behave, to walk the line of the ‘good’ or whatever it was that the vigilantes wanted from her. No one had died. She instead spent her days taking care of plants, going to parks and places of weak vegetation in the middle of the night so that she could help the plants of this city thrive as they were meant to. Untempered by the industrialization of the world around them. But there was only so much that the ecoterrorist could take before she began to feel restless. Before the cries of the plants around her got to be so disheartening and desperate that something had to be done. The herbicides being used were dangerous, killing the beautiful plants because no one understood them and they’d sooner kill than learn. Typical. Humans were disgusting like that, always had been. Fear the unknown, be lazy, destroy. It made Ivy sick. Still, with the future bat and psychotic bird about, always watching and judging, it left Ivy unable to do much.
Of course, they didn’t know where she and Harley lived, her plants would have warned her of any suspicious activity and threats to the two Gothamites. Because like Hell was Ivy letting harm come to her or Harley just because of what they had done in Gotham with no chance to prove that they had indeed changed. Stupid vigilantes. Terry and his warning and saying not to let him regret giving her a chance. She’d like to feed the pretentious teen to her plants. And Jason was a hypocrite, plain and simple. Crazy bird. Still, at least that asshole Joker wasn’t here because she would team up with Jason then to get rid of the psychotic clown.
But these were not the most forthright thoughts in mind at the moment. Oh no. Ivy had been reading up on different chemical plants around the area, and one was destroying all plants around it. They claimed it was nothing, but Ivy knew. They were poisoning the ground and if those chemicals got into the water, well.. The idiotic people would die, but so would her plants. Meaning she needed to act. She wanted to go behind the scientists, the bastards who thought they controlled life and death and didn’t care about the consequences. But one life killed because of her that wasn’t self defense/someone being stupid and grabbing her and dying from contact... well, she’d have a hit on her head and Ivy really had no desire to deal with that right now. Which meant she could take out the plant but she’d have to wait. Even if she made it appear an accident, the vigilantes would attack her anyway. Okay, so they’d probably blame her for it happening even if she had nothing to do with it. It was ridiculous.
Still, something had to be done. These chemicals... they were bad. And hey, wouldn’t an added bonus be that it didn’t get dumped into water sources and kill people? True she could care less about the human aspect of the matter as her only concern were for the plants but surely that had to help in her favor, right? Right. Because people bothered to listen to her side of things. But it was common so she wasn’t expecting that particular luxury. The question was what to do. A few days of research on the herbicide, how it was made and the components gave her the answer, though. Explosions usually weren’t her style and she certainly wasn’t about to take a page from the Joker’s book. But an explosion from natural substances interacting with the wrong chemicals? Well, that she could do.
It was late when she left, Harley was playing with her hyena pups and so Ivy was able to leave undetected and make it to the location of the plant. Hiding within the surrounding bushes, Ivy waited until all of the workers were gone. And dammit, there was a security guard. Okay, that was easy enough to fix. Simple seducing, kiss to knock him out even if she’d have rather killed him, moving the body away from the blast site and entering the site while avoiding the cameras until she got to where the chemicals were stored. She had a short amount of time to get in and out lest she explode herself in the process. And if she did that, who would watch over Harley? No one, that was who. With the different plant components she needed at her disposal, Ivy quickly put them in the correct chemicals and quickly left, making it up the road just as the explosion lit the night sky.
One corrupt and planet ruining warehouse down... far too many to go.
