As he revealed the hammer Irene's eyes widened and she took a small step back - just enough that if he decided to pull the horrifically effective looking weapon, she'd have enough space to kick him in the delicates and make a run for it. "I...see. So you normally make trips to a corner shop, armed, with vulnerable women in mind. Of course."
Inwardly breathing a sigh of relief when he decided to cover up the hammer, she raised a skeptical eyebrow when he explained she wasn't on "her" earth. Fantastic. Not only was he armed, he was also delusional.
Still though, he was polite and if his delusions involved rescuing pretty women, she should be safe. So for now she'd play along and hopefully he'd bring her somewhere with a phone, or even better, an internet connection.
"I know a little about quantum theory, I had a su....a client who liked to be quizzed on it in" she paused, wondering how much to reveal, but deciding to play it safe (especially considering his comment about common decency) she continued "unusual situations. Are you going to tell me it's not just a theory, and I've somehow ended up in a parallel universe? It would at least explain why I'm not in London anymore, I suppose."
Something was bothering her about the weapon he was carrying. Well, something more than the fact he was carrying it in the first place. She was sure she'd seen something like it before - in a movie, maybe? She dismissed the thought from her head, and focused on him, awaiting a response.
