Really, Leela's mind had been scattered of late. She was waiting for the Spikey-Haired One to finish the device he was making for spying on the Master. She certainly hoped he'd finish it sooner rather than later. The warrior was deeply worried about Romana and extremely suspicious of the Master. Of course, she and Romana weren't on the best of terms right now, and it wasn't even completely due to the Master. Things had been said, old wounds had been reopened, and Leela was not the type of person who could just forgive and forget. In fact, Leela wasn't the forgiving type at all. Even when someone explained why they'd done something, she didn't forgive them. That's what she'd done to Andred. Oh she'd loved him so, she still did love him, but after what he did, she could never trust him again, so she'd divorced him. And then he'd been killed by Pandora. Some days lately, it was difficult for her to separate Pandora from Romana even though she knew they weren't the same person. Much like the War Queen Romana wasn't the same as the current Romana, but yet Leela knew the War Queen was still part of Romana. Even if Romana didn't realize it or admit it, Leela knew that woman was in there, and therein was the source of the doubt she had. The War Queen had meant those harsh things she'd said to her, but when this Romana was apologetic for it, could she really believe her?
Wanting desperately to get her mind off that topic, she grabbed one of the animal skins Romana had given her, a needle and thread and headed to the console room. Normally, she'd be sitting in the pool room, but she felt like being in the console room. More chance of running into someone there who could distract her from the thoughts in her head. Once in the console room, Leela found a place and sat down, starting to work on turning the skin into a new dress. She was grateful that Romana had given her new skins, she was in need of new dresses, but she didn't quite want to wear Earth clothes if she didn't have to. Most of them were too restricting for her tastes. She needed freedom of movement, and she felt more natural in animal skins.
As usual, K-9 had followed her in, wheeling over to sit next to her. The robotic dog was concerned for his mistress, but he well knew she didn't listen to him. Not to mention he wasn't the best for emotional things, so he just remained at her side, letting her know he was there should she require anything. He put his system on standby so as to save his power. Though he should perhaps talk to one of the Doctors about a system upgrade. His circuits were getting a little worse for wear these days.
