Who:Jules and Dean! What:New Years ♥ When:Uh..New Years eve! (backdated) Where: Starting at her place and then out for dinnery things. Warning:Sappy!
It was New Years Eve. Fear be damned, she was going to go out. She was going to go out and have a night alone with Dean. They were a becoming a little more difficult to get since Ben had come into the picture, so like hell she was going to cave to fear. Ruby had told her not to let the fear win and she was trying. She hadn't gotten drunk since Vegas, didn't drown her fear away in liquor as much as often she wanted to. She was trying. She still had reoccurring nightmares of Alastair and the hospital. She remembered everything.
Don't go out alone. Was engraved in her memory. Those words and Alastair's knives stung equally. She hadn't been alone, she had a partner with her who was supposed to watch her back. He was no Carlton Lassiter. She knew if it was Lassiter things might have ended differently then they had, but it wasn't. As she slipped on the new washed out teal dress Dean had bought her for Christmas piece by piece, she looked at some of the faint scars on her arms and legs in the mirror. Chewing her lower lip she released a small sigh and knelt down to strap on a pair of black strappy heels.
Her blond brows furrowed some as she stood for a moment and looked at herself in her stand up mirror. She knew she couldn't be afraid. She was dating Dean, if she was afraid then Alastair won. She couldn't look at herself properly if she continued to live in fear. All she saw when she looked into that mirror were the scars he left behind. The damage he'd done and a bitter flavor in her mouth. Something had to give. She should have felt pretty, the dress Dean had picked out fit her perfectly in all the right ways, her life had a purpose. All she felt was fear. It was draining.
Strapping on her thigh holster for her gun under her dress, she looked away from the mirror. It was a New Year, she was going to resolve to be herself again one day. There were days she felt like a stranger in her own skin, she refused to let it happen anymore.
