Connor noticed the blush and wondered immediately if he was doing the right thing. What if she didn't want this? Or what if she had, like she'd said, and he'd waited too long? Or what if she'd come to her senses and realized he was nothing worth the hassle she'd already gone through? After nothing serious had happened between them on their last date (it had been a date, hadn't it?), maybe she'd just...moved on?
He couldn't think that way or he'd drive himself mad. Grinning, he shrugged and motioned to the tree Kon had given him. Little, but mighty. "Kon started it," he admitted. "And then I just kind of let it escalate. And then when I knew you were coming over..." Had he just admitted he had done a lot of this for her? Well. Yes. Biting his lower lip to keep himself from blurting anything more stupid, he glanced around, then looked back at her eagerly. "Okay, well. Um. Do you want your present now? Or do you want to wait till tomorrow? Or I can give it to you now and you can open it tomorrow, whichever."
Oh, god, and now he was rambling. And horribly so. If she didn't walk out right then, he'd call it a Christmas miracle. As it was he was afraid she'd hate her gift.
