[I got yelled at... because my comment was too long. so this is a two parter]
The way the guy on the message board responded worried her. Chloe considered saying no thank you to the ride after that but she knew she had to face him. She didn't mean it the way it came off. It's ironic to her that things people never think exist always happen around her or to her. Being attacked by mutants? Check. Being attacked by a ghost? Check. Being possessed by said ghost? check. Said Ghost going back to their murdered to be killed again in Chloe's body.. yes, check. That was all before she even graduated high school. Even then, the 'lightening never strikes in the same spot twice' theory was proven wrong. The infamous smallville meteor shower that caused the mutations of smallville and surrounding residents was said to be the only time. Her entire graduating class didn't even get called before the city was evacuated because meteor shower 2.0 was on it's way.
And her track record goes on. Almost being murdered by the meteor infected who could shape shift to look like her friends, meteor spiked drinks who made her go insane, the popular plastic who possessed her and attempted to kill her best friends. Still, all before graduation. When Smallville High was behind her Chloe thought that the world would finally be filled with sunshine and some lollipop rainbows. Not the case.
Most people don't have near death experiences, when they do, it's maybe one or two. Chloe lost count of how many times she's almost died. As for the times she has died.. she tries not to think about it. It's not normal for someone to die and come back once, let alone multiple times.
Luckily when she got in the car he had the music up loud enough where they weren't forced in to conversation. Chloe was grateful, because she hadn't realized this was the guy they had been telling her about. The one who was right in the middle of it all, who was fighting to make sure Lucifer stayed in hell. A part of her began to feel unusually small for coming off the way she had.
The short blonde followed the larger man's motions as he reached for the radio. Good, he was going to turn it up...
crap, he turned it off! please don't yell at me..I hope we're really headed to get some coffee and not some place where you're going to attack me. I couldn't possibly be a demon!
Turning her head to watch him as he spoke, a small frown appeared on her face. "I didn't mean it like that you know.." This was the guy everyone trusted, so she might as well come clean. "I was the weird girl in school. Not weird in the geeky glasses and unibrow kind of way, I promise I showered on a daily basis. But I was the girl who believed in the unexplainable. No one believed me when I thought certain people in the town had special powers, and that it was because of the meteor rocks all over the town. In high school, any guy that was interested in me turned out to be a killer or someone who tried to kill me. I found out my best friend was hiding his special powers from me and later, that he was an alien! Mutants, life on other planets.. it all real. It wasn't that big of a shock to me to find out Angel's and Demon's are real. I didn't mean to make it sound like I don't care."
