Tony was going to point out that he could definitely abandon his goals if he wanted to (which was a lie, but he was allowed to lie, wasn't he?), but Felicia started getting so annoyingly smug about how much he had worried over her nearly falling off the roof that Tony couldn't help but skip the subject altogether to shrug the subject off as soon as he could. And by shrug the subject off, it really meant that he was trying to come up with something witty enough to throw her off the path of the somewhat dangerous territory they were venturing into.
Of course, that didn't stop him from letting out a notable breath of relief at the sight of Felicia abandoning her stance on the edge of the roof. As natural as it was for her to walk around like that to her hearts delight, Tony found himself waiting for something bad to happen just at the mere sight of it all. Which was kinda funny, really, since Tony Stark was all about living life on the edge. Huh, what do you know? It was kind of ironic, too.
“What? I'm the only one who gets to switch off the hero/not hero mode when we get to the big city? What about you, Cat? Am I gonna have to beg to get you to keep your hands out of everyone else's pockets?” Not that he would. Beg, that was. Tony liked to think he was above it. “Fair is fair.” Well, it was more fair for him, anyway. Tony was exceptionally fantastic at slacking off, partying, and doing everything against what people generally thought was best for him and his schedule. Tony could swoop off to New York for a couple days without giving in to some crazy urge to rush off and save the world, no problem.
"And about me being worried?" Tony couldn't help but smirk. "You're right. I am. If you fall off that ledge, someone could really get hurt. There are people walking around down there, you know. What if you hit someone?" Aha! Bingo. Wit. He found it. "Oh, sorry -" Tony put his hands up at his sides, giving her a shrug, looking as if he just didn't quite know what to do with himself. "- was that me being a hero again?"
