Maya Jacobs is Felicia Hardy ([info]crossyourpath) wrote in [info]wariscoming,
He didn't lecture, which she had to admit to approving of, and of course she'd never steal from him. Never from friends or people who couldn't afford to be stolen from. She didn't do it for any reason really other than the thrill and the reward. And here, she had enough money more than she'd really had at home in fact, and was building up quite the collection of things she could sell on or return depending. It was good for them that he didn't care what she did on her own time. And of course she thought herself far too good to get caught by conventional police, it'd take a superhero, and Peter wasn't here, Part of her was curious if any of the others would eventually catch on to her and how fun the following moral dilemma on their behalf would be. She didn't hurt anyone, she never would. It was just the thrill of the crime.

But to do gooder superheroes, it was always Crime with the very capital C. Tony Stark was far from the norm though. She liked that about him. of course she didn't like him being mean about her party which even he had admitted had been flawless up until the jerk angel had stamped his godly powered foot and screwed it all up cause he'd been bored and felt left out.

"Yeah well I don't usually have to protect my parties from the whims of angels. Next time I'll add it to the list of preparations. Would that be better do you think?" she replied, and she knew it was mostly banter, of course she did. But she liked the banter. She always had, and Tony could give as good as he got. Even if he was oh so wrong in this case. "And I feel I have to point out that some people were wearing sane costumes. Solo told me he liked the guy he became, and okay, so he's a little crazy, but I'm fairly sure Kon and Allana made out okay and a few others. Not everyone was super evil. We were mostly just less impressive and stupider versions of ourselves."

And oh, he'd set her up beautifully. "Actually, I could pay you. Cause right now I pretty much fund you. Which I still have to admit feels just beautiful sometimes. How does it feel to be bankrolled by a thief Mr Stark" she asked with a smirk that clearly indicated she thought she'd won.

He moved to join her, leaning over the wall she was currently perched upon.

"It's no New York. but you know, I swear I'm getting used to this place. It actually sometimes feels like home. Even if that freaking seal sees fit to take my friends away on occasion." She wasn't gonna brood though, Danny wouldn't approve of brooding. Of course he also wouldn't approve of bantering on a rooftop with Tony Stark but she'd have done that even if he was still here. She let herself smile a little, "Oh you're good, clearly with psychic powers beyond any I've ever known. Though lets call it acquired, stolen sounds so common. You're dealing with a much higher class of thief or haven't you worked that out yet?."
