WHO: Ben WinchesterBraeden
WHAT: Ben comes home to find...nothing. And that causes him to embark on an Adventure.
WHEN: Evening.
WHERE: Braeden household and then to Lawrence!
RATING: PG-13, maybe.
Ben had been playing his DS on the bus, his earbuds firmly in his ears so he didn't have to hear the noise coming from everyone else on the bus. They were all stupidly loud and talked about some of the dumbest stuff as far as Ben was concerned. His two best friends weren't even at school today, which sucked. It meant that playing the DS was what was up. Looking up from his game after completing a level, Ben caught Becky Raymond peeking his way, the young man couldn't help but smile at her, lifting his left hand and giving a bit of a wave her way. Oh yeah, he totally had it. That might have been his ego talking, though. Ben did realize that they were about to turn onto his street, though.
Ben automatically saved where he was and then tucked his DS into his backpack before sliding toward the aisle. When the bus paused at the stop sign on the corner, Ben stood from his seat and exited the bus eagerly. Mom had promised him pizza tonight! Ben practically ran to his house, not hesitating in running inside. His backpack was dropped by the stairs and he automatically hollered out, "MOOOM! I'm home!" The boy wandered into the kitchen grabbing a soda out of the fridge, popping the top and taking a nice drink from it, standing there for a few long moments before he realized he hadn't gotten a response.
That wasn't normal.... "MOM!" Ben hollered as he peeked into the back yard, seeing nothing there. After that Ben found himself wandering through the whole house. She wasn't in her room. She wasn't in the bathroom. She wasn't in his room. She wasn't in the basement, or the attic. Where the hell was she? She was nowhere to be found. Her keys were on the table by the door, as was her cellphone! Her purse was on the hook by the door too. Her car was in the garage. Where the hell was his mom?
Nothing was to be found from her, nothing..... What was he supposed to do? Going back to the kitchen, sitting his soda down on the counter, Ben dialed Mrs. Nelson next door, asking if his mom was there. She was concerned and asked if everything was okay, so Ben....well, he couldn't help but lie and say it was fine, she must be at the other neighbor's house. However, after hanging up and dialing the Silvidis Ben discovered his mom wasn't there either. There wasn't a note and mom wouldn't be at work without her car! What else could he do? He couldn't call the cops right now, he wasn't even sure what was up and it wasn't like Ben was a baby! He wasn't going to flip out. No, he'd wait and give her a little time.
So, Ben grabbed the forgotten soda and settled on the sofa, turning on the television. He wasn't really paying attention to what was going on, though. He was sitting there, the phone sitting next to him. He was hoping he'd get something one way or another, damn it.
The kid was starting to worry now, but he gave it time. There's no way that his mother wouldn't let her know anything at all! He shouldn't wait too long. And the cops....Ben didn't want to get his mother in trouble and he didn't want them to stick him somewhere creepy or something. Nope, this was weird, something fishy was going on and this didn't feel right. What the hell was he supposed to do? It hadn't been long enough that he should panic--that's what he was sure the police would say. So....he'd just wait it out.
Ben ended up falling asleep on the couch. When he woke up the next morning he was late for school (by like 20 minutes)....and there was still no mom. No phone call, nothing. Ben didn't know what to do. He couldn't call the cops though, this stuff didn't happen in real life, he was positive. His mom hadn't run away or anything like that.
It was definitely something supernatural. It just felt like it. Ben could feel it in his bones. Ben really couldn't help but feel like he might be in danger, though. His mom was gone..... He had Dean's number, but literally every sound just made him worry and he was afraid....he could admit it. That was why he looked up the phone, finding a connection to it and Lawrence, Kansas. After that he packed a bag, left Dean a voicemail, and he did something he thought he'd never do. He got into his mom's purse, took her money and her credit cards and he paid for a ticket to Lawrence......he didn't feel safe. And...y'know what it seemed like a good idea.
That was why Ben found himself getting off of the bus in downtown Lawrence, looking around a little lost. He had no idea where he was going.... He'd figure it out, though. He had to find Dean! The buses probably were done running 'cause it was evening, but he figured....he'd be okay! Maybe....
