Who: Gert Yorkes and OPEN!
What: Possibly freaking someone out with her dinosaur. She just arrived.
When: Friday night.
Where: A park in Lawrence

So, Gert was confused. Sure, she'd heard of just showing up in a different place before, but usually that happened when someone was either a mutant or a time traveler like her parents. Gert was neither. She was just a runaway that was standing in a park instead of in a cave and surrounded by fire, holding onto the arm of her pet deinonychus' arm. "This is bad," she muttered to herself as she looked around.

She was supposed to be having a face off with Geffory and saving Chase, but they didn't seem to have shown up when she did. "This is really bad." Unsure of what she was going to do if she found out that something bad happened to him because she had just randomly disappeared, she spun around, eyes searching the park.

"Chase!" she yelled first, even though she was pretty sure that she wasn't going to see him. Still, she had to try. "Guys, are you here?!"

Gert could tell that Old Lace could sense her distress, and she moved to run her hand down the dinosaur's spine. "No, it's alright. Don't freak out. We don't want you freaking out because that would be even worse." Last thing she needed was reports of a crazed dinosaur on the loose, attacking people.

Cal was out for a run, the park wasn't too far off from the apartments, and he could make it here and back in about an hour, which was generally as long as he liked being gone.

He called it a run, but thanks to Niko's voice in the back of his mind, louder now that his brother wasn't there in person to reprimand him, it was really a patrol, and at the sound of someone calling for friends who apparently weren't there, he turned, heading that direction.

His dark hair was pulled back in a stubby ponytail, aside from the few pieces that always escaped the front, he jogged up, stopping short when he saw the dinosaur, "Whoa."

Gert had her back to the guy when he approached, but she felt Old Lace jerk towards him. She sent the dinosaur a quick message to stay put as she turned to look at who was moving towards them, eyes narrowing when she saw him.

"Who are you?" she asked suspiciously. After all, she had no way of knowing if this guy had anything to do with her showing up there or not. At least he didn't look like he had anything to do with it, but you could never tell. Plus, she wasn't the most trusting person, even before all the crap she'd been through over the last several months.

She ran her hand up and down the dinosaur's spine, trying to keep her calm.

"I'm Cal." He said, keeping his hands where she could see them, "And I ask this knowing full well how suspicious I sound, but, uh, you were somewhere else a few minutes ago, weren't you?"

Cal didn't necessarily look trustworthy, but he didn't look untrustworthy, all in all, tall, lanky, dark-haired and clearly of Roma descent, the line of his nose gave that away, mostly.

The fact that this guy knew that raised Gert's suspicions even further. Why would someone take a wild stab like that if they didn't already know something about it?

"How'd I get here?" she asked, narrowing her eyes at him behind her thick framed glasses. Gert didn't want to sic Old Lace on him, but if he ended up being one of the badguys, she would do what she had to do.

"Same way we all did, well, not everyone it's just a regular city, Lawrence Kansas, that's where you are now, and a bunch of us got here the same way, it's kind of a long story." He only ever babbled like this when he was nervous.

For a guy who'd faced down the things he'd faced down, being faced with a dinosaur was enough to make him a little twitchy, go figure, "Sort of, there's this demon, who's cracking capital-S Seals to let Lucifer free, one of them cracked here, and it's pulling people in from all over, I'm from New York, initially."

Kansas? Seriously? She had actually showed up in Kansas? "Isn't this sort of a state that magical tornadoes are supposed to take you away from?" she asked, brow perked. "No one ever talks about being transported to Kansas, it's always away from here." Okay, so maybe she was referencing The Wizard of Oz, but hey, that was a good movie.

"And I really hope you aren't trying to tell me that it's all for the Devil, because I'm sort of atheist so I don't exactly buy that."

There was almost a smile at that, and a huff that was supposed to be a laugh, "Yeah, I asked the same thing, for just about the same reason, but yeah, it's true. There's angels here too, haven't seen them in person, but I've seen them on the board." He shook his head then, "Computer messageboard that's been set up for people like you and me that wind up not where we started."

"So, you mean that there's enough of us that randomly showed up here that we need our own forum?" Gert was still skeptical, but not quite as much as before.

"Right well. Any idea how I can check up on my friends? Because I was sort of in the middle of something really freaking important back home." Really, she wanted to know that everyone was alright. Especially Chase. Last time Gert saw him there was a knife pressed against his throat.

	His face fell at that, jaw tightening just for a moment, "Yeah, I know how that goes." He shook his head, "I think we all were, and general consensus is that this isn't even the same reality as back home, so no way to get word back that you're okay, which somehow makes it suck even more when people think it'll make it suck less if they tell you that."
