WHO: Tyler Simms and Kitty Pryde
WHAT: When the adults Nate is away, the kids Ty and Kitty come out to play get bored.
WHEN: Sunday evening.
WHERE: Kitty's apartment.
RATING: PG-13 because of Ty's mouth.

A lot of strange and unexplained things had happened to Ty since arriving here, the biggest of which had been arriving here at all. It was hard to think of everything else, about how normal all of this was at times, when there was so much strangeness going on. But then things cooled down and Tyler started to realize increasingly more and more how bored he was getting, restless. He had long since made the decision that returning to school to finish his last year of high school wasn't the right thing for him. It just didn't feel right. This wasn't Ipswich and the high schools in Lawrence would be nothing like Lawrence, and without his brothers...

It just wouldn't feel right. He knew that. But that left him feeling antsy. He needed a car so that he could go places. He had owned his Hummer since he was 15 years old and been driving it that long, too. Now, he was suddenly grounded without it. So, he needed a job to get another car. Because feeling like he was on house arrest had been driving him a little batty. In his attempts to entertain himself, he'd felt himself slipping.

What does he do when he's bored? Use. It's what Reid used to do.

But he was better than Reid, and sure, he had been Using to keep in contact with Nate while he was gone, and he might have Used to get his laundry done faster, but those were little things. They didn't count right? Even in his head, the argument sounded lame.

So this? This was a good distraction, a good way not to be bored. Tyler waited five minutes after hanging up the phone before he was running down the stairs, taking them two at a time, and sat out front to wait for the pizza man. His cheeks were still slightly red as he stood there, thinking back to the slightly dirty comment Kitty had thrown out at him. He liked to pretend his was smooth, but it was times like this when his fumbling nature just proved how wrong that really was.

The pizza man arrived shortly afterward, and Tyler paid him before moving to head back upstairs at a much slower pace than he had taken them upstairs. There was a bottle of soda in one hand and the pizza in the other, and it wouldn't do to drop either of them in his eagerness to get back upstairs. Not that he was eager... Well, not exactly. He was so damn anxious to get his mind away from his boredom that maybe he was a little eager, but that would be the only reason if he was. Yup. The only.

He stopped in front of Kitty's door and gave the door a slight kick since both of his hands were full and called through the door, "Hey, it's me. Open up."

Burnt ramen noodles weren't all that great. Seriously, they weren't. Kitty wasn't the greatest cook in the world, but there were things she could make without burning them...sometimes. Apparently at the moment ramen noodles weren't one of those things. She really thought it seemed simple. One day she would learn how to not burn things when she tried to cook. Today wasn't that day, though, which was okay. She was going to get pizza and company now.

The only reason she hadn't invited Nate too was the fact that she knew he had gone out of town. That meant it was just her and Tyler. The three of them, as far as Kitty was concerned, were friends. Sure, they didn't know everything about one another yet, but they were the first people that kitty had really talked a lot to upon arriving in Lawrence, so they were kind of stuck with her. She liked to make friends wherever she was, honestly. And it probably helped that Ty lived so close to her too. It was really easy to get Tyler to hang out because of that fact.

Tyler really was cute, even though he didn't seem to like being called cute. She meant well when she said it, though. And then...there was the fact that she had teased him with the slightly dirty comment. It really was the way that he had put the comment out there. She wasn't sure if she'd embarrassed him or what, but his reaction had been slightly amusing. She figured there was no harm in that kind of joking around. He was going to bring pizza when he came over too, which didn't bother Kitty at all.

So, Kitty had gotten off of the computer and flopped onto her couch, her jeans and pink t-shirt more than comfortable enough for her. That was where she was sitting when she heard the thump and the voice through her door. She put the remote down (having been looking for something to watch) and headed to the door, opening it wide and holding it for him. "Come on in, Ty." She held the door open until he was inside and then shut it behind him.

Tyler looked up as the door was opened, and he flashed a grin. "Sorry I can't just phase on through," he said easily, half teasing her as he moved past her and headed kitchen table. Well, that might have been a lie. It's not like he had ever tried to use his powers for that kind of purpose. He knew Caleb had done something very similar, though, once when he had gotten into a car wreck, so it probably was actually possible. He just didn't think using that much power was really worth giving Kitty a few more minutes to stay sitting down.

He actually sighed a bit at that thought, feeling like it was a good sign. He pealed off of his green jacket that Reid liked so much back home. How many times had he gone to put it on only to realize the blonde had already stolen it? The warm Lawrence hair had taken a drastic turn the last few days, which didn't exactly help with his boredom. It was hard to even take a walk when it was so chilly and he didn't have a destination. He was missing Nicky's more than anything right about now. At least it gave him something to do with his natural restless energy almost every night. Even Aaron Abbott's fucked up face would be nice to see these days.

But those were thoughts for another time, because tonight, he wasn't going to be stuck in his room with nothing to do. "Did you choose a movie?" he asked, curiously, but not moving from the kitchen table. He wasn't sure if Kitty was the type to want to eat right out of the pizza box or not, but either way, they would probably need cups. Right? Probably. Not that he had never drunk out of a 2-liter but he figured that was probably below Kitty's standards.

Kitty couldn't help but snicker a little bit at Tyler's comment. "Well, it's a good thing that I didn't expect you to walk through the door, then, huh?" She knew that he'd be on his way up, and honestly there were very few people that could walk right on through like she could. After the door was shut, Kitty followed right after Tyler, a smile on her face. The company was definitely 1,000X better than sitting all by herself. She was glad not only for the company, but for the pizza too. It was a better choice than burnt ramen any day.

Because he was taking off his jacket, Kitty took the moment to move over to her cabinet, pulling out two cups. She hadn't accumulated a whole lot yet, but she had enough for this to work well enough. Because Kitty wasn't the tallest person in the world the only shelves that were occupied in her place were the lowest ones. The shelves in the cabinet that were higher were empty. Maybe it was just a quirk of her's. She didn't want anything up so far that she couldn't easily reach it. And she was just a bit under average, really. After shutting the cabinet, Kitty set each cup out before looking at Tyler, "Ice?" She asked even as she moved to get herself some.

Ty wasn't the only one that had been getting bored and restless. Kitty knew that not only did she need a job of some kind, but she needed to be doing things that were active. Back home she had done so much....in different ways, but she had a purpose. She definitely needed that to feel normal. Job was first on the list, though.

Blinking as she turned toward him, Kitty grinned. "Well, we've two good options from what I saw flipping through the guide. Fast and the Furious or Flight of the Phoenix looked pretty good?" She told him, nodding at the pizza box, "We can just take that in there with us and eat out of the box if you're good with it?"
