"Well we can't have you dying, can we?" she teased, her smile impossible to miss. Sure, there were tears, but they were most definitely happy ones or she wouldn't be beaming. This? Was all she'd wanted. Just knowing he even wanted to do the whole 'death do us part' thing made all the difference. They'd make it work, dammit, because she wasn't letting them fall apart like everyone else.
Florence reached out, taking the knight in one hand and touching his cheek with the other. His answer was so Freddie that she didn't even try to argue. It was why she loved him. She didn't expect him to be perfect. She expected him to be him, sans the idiot she knew he could be when he got angry. And, well, that was worth it.
"I don't need a ring," she pointed out, clutching the official symbol of their engagement like it was a lifeline. Engagement. Well, she may have sort of seen it coming, but she was also blindsided. It didn't matter. She had her man and he cared about her and he loved her and that was all she wanted. It was all she'd ever wanted, if she was being honest. "I just need you. Always. Yes, Freddie. Three letters, if you want them, they're yours. Yes."
And not really giving a damn who was standing around, she kissed him soundly.
