Elphie nodded as Elena told her about Galinda. Even in her current state, Elphie was far more worried about the blonde witch than herself. She hoped Galinda was okay. She knew how trusting Galinda was, even when she shouldn't be. If anything happened to her and she wasn't there to help her, she didn't know what she'd do.
When Elena started cleaning her wounds, Elphie clenched her teeth, but managed to keep herself from making much noise louder than a whimper. Yes, it stung, but it wasn't anything worse than she'd suffered through to get the wounds. It was possible that a few of the wounds would be scars, but Elphie wasn't concerned with that right now. She wasn't even thinking about the healing potions her and Galinda had made a while back. She was just going with the flow at the moment.
Returning Elena's hug, Elphie closed her eyes. She was so tired, and her body was starting to feel as though it were made out of lead. Even though she was calm right now, the instant her body and mind were clear of the physical pain, she'd then have to deal with the emotional pain. Somewhere in the back of her mind, Elphie knew she'd have a hard time getting over the version of her mother and sister that she'd met. No amount of anyone telling her they weren't her mother and sister would keep her from lamenting the fact they destroyed any hopes she'd had of them being different. Well, moreso her mother since she knew Nessa well enough.
"Safe, that's a strange word to hear." She opened her eyes and looked at Elena. She knew Damon and Elena wouldn't let anything happen to her. And Galinda would probably just stick her in a bubble if something did happen. "When I recover, I think I'll tell Galinda how I feel. The only thing I could think of while being tortured was how I never told her how I felt. She was the only thing that kept me going, kept me hanging on." Of course she didn't know how Galinda would even take to that confession, but she wanted the blonde to know. And if she was rejected, at least Elphie could go to her grave knowing she had been open about her feelings. And for the moment, she'd completely forgotten that Galinda even had a boyfriend. Though to be honest, everything outside of Galinda and this room was largely forgotten by her right now.
