He was really grateful she was moving the conversation along. Though he couldn't place why, things felt awkward. Like it had when he'd first moved in with Abby. Which wasn't a good sign, since he'd practically weasled his way into the flat. He didn't think he'd weasled his way into Kimberly's life. Actually, she'd invited him over, not the other way around. And he wasn't planning on taking up permanent residence with her, either. So they should be safe enough. Right?
"You do?" he asked, eyebrows lifted. He was pretty sure that if Isabel hadn't seen the creatures for herself, she wouldn't have believed him. But then, Isabel was a skeptical sort. Kimberly probably wasn't. Oh, he knew she might have been at one time, but anyone who dealt with all that she had really couldn't be. "Yeah, well... I appreciate it. There's enough crazy stuff going on around here, I don't need people looking at me like I'm completely mental."
He grinned as he picked up the bag of DVDs with his free hand and headed over to the couch. "It's pretty easy, really. Better than eating cold cereal every night. I got tired of cereal, pizza, and Ramen in school so...I taught myself." And since he'd gone to school for a really, really long time, he'd had plenty of time to learn. "Mum didn't cook a lot so I really didn't have a chance to learn before that."
Was it wrong of him to mention his mum when she'd lost hers? He hoped not. He didn't want to hurt her. Besides, she had a dad and his was a right arse. So...fair trade, right?
