Juliet had lost track of time. For a few brief moments she didn't know where she was, or why everything hurt so damn much. Thanks to the I.V. drip in her arm she began to wake up in a fog, and as far as she was aware she'd been on vacation and in a nice fancy hotel. She was happy, for the first time in a few days, she was content laying with her eyes shut and not wanting to open them. She would have stayed that way too if not for the hollowing sound of a consistent beeping that disturbed her happy place and brought back her waking nightmare. Her eyes slowly opened. The bright lights the hospital provided caused them to burn and water. She closed them again for a short time and could see images of a knife. A sharp knife shining maliciously in her memory. She could see Alastair in that hospital room standing over her.
Fear settled in and it didn't have any plans of leaving her in peace. She looked at everything around her, but could only see Alastair. She could only feel the phantom chill of the basement against her skin. He was going to attack her again, her blond brows knit together as she looked desperately for a way out of that hospital bed. She jerked on the wire holding the I.V. drip in and pulled the machine down to the ground with a loud crash. It also jerked the I.V. out of her arm causing another sting of pain and reality to set in. She was alone. There was no one there, just an empty hospital room and the inhumane sound of machines. No Alstair, no Dean, just fear.
She was bandaged almost everywhere, but she could see her fingers, they were bloody and bruised. She could still taste blood in the back of her throat from where he'd cut her face. She wanted to cry but she didn't have the energy. She wanted to get up, but she couldn't do that either. She was right back to square one, fear and pain.
