Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:buffy summers, romana, ron weasley

WHO: Romana, Buffy Summers, Martha Jones, Raven, Paige, Ron Weasley, any others involved that I've forgotten I will add as needed.
WHAT: One last stand
WHERE: A closed off alley in Lawrence
WHEN: 24th June Evening
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress.

Martha had done the deed, actually contacted the foul creatures and offered them Romana as terms of a surrender. Once again Romana had ordered something awful be done in the name of destroying Daleks, and she had no right to order the girl. None at all, but Martha had agreed. The others were around, the blonde Slayer, the Witches and Wizards, the new girl with power over shadows, So many who understood, who're helping them.

And so Romana stood, knowing the teleporting witch Paige and Raven were nearby, knowing Buffy was nearby with the weapon, others with Guns, Martha was there, and that reassured her.

But her blood still ran cold when she heard the cold metallic voice.

"ROMANADVORATRELUNDER. LADY PRESIDENT" it said and Romana nooded though she still could not see them.

"Something you wanted?"

"YOU UNDERSTAND, YOU ALL UNDERSTAND NOW THAT THERE CAN BE NO RESISTANCE. NO DEFENCE AGAINST THE MIGHT OF THE DALEK EMPIRE. YOUR UNIT SOILDER KNOWS THIS TO BE TRUE"

There was some Dalek discontent about this. They liked UNIT about as much as they did the Time Lords. Mostly thanks to Brigideer Lethbridge Stewart, she supposed. But Martha had apparently had her role to play there too, what the girl had been willing to do, Romana had understood. She'd done it. But the Doctor would have had to see it happen to another world he loved.

"FOR YOUR CRIMES AGAINST THE DALEKS. YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED"

Romana eyed the Daleks coldly. "Crimes?. Twenty years you held me for supposed War Crimes. Any idea what those are yet?"  she asked

"UNIMPORTANT. FOR CRIMES AGAINST THE DALEKS, EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE"

As the weapon raised ooked up to where Martha was, where Buffy was. They would need to act now. It was the only way. Romana stood firm trusting herself to the others here. They would help her, and the Daleks would die in this rather nice little closed off alley.

Though her eyes saw the creatures as something that looked like a prop from an 80's science fiction show, Raven's mind felt hatred the likes she had never sensed before. The hatred seemed to be focused on the woman standing in front of them. Raven kept herself nearly melded with the shadows nearby, being sure to go unseen throughout the entire 'conversation.'

The moment the thing, that looked as though it were a weapon, raised pointing at the woman, Raven turned the woman's shadow into a portal which she tried to pull the woman through so she would be out of the way for Buffy to attack.

The moment Raven succeeded, she planned to move them back a bit more to join up with Ron and his friends, and be well away from any splash damage.

Ron, too, kept his distance. He didn't know much about aliens or alien attacks, but if there was anything that he had learned in all of his time being Harry Potter's best friend, it was that throwing himself right into the line of fire was a very, very stupid idea. Wand at the ready, Ron kept himself as hidden as well as he could, blue eyes focusing mostly on what was going on ahead, yet occasionally flicking back to look at Rose and James in concern. He didn't know why he had agreed to let them come along. If James got hurt, Harry would kill him. If Rose got hurt - no, Rose wasn't going to get hurt. Neither was James. They were his family, future or not, and it was his job to take care of them.

Ron really was, in his own way, growing up fast. But that was something he was all right with keeping to himself.

His goal wasn't to aim and destroy every last thing that came running to him. It was said that there was only one thing strong enough to destroy the Daleks. Magic wasn't going to be good enough. Yet, he was more than able to watch that Buffy girls back while making sure that Romana got back from it all okay. She seemed like a nice woman and Ron would be far from pleased to see her get hurt. So when the time was right, Ron raised his wand, took aim, and sent out the most deadly hexes he could think of. They might not have been enough to stop them, but Ron was hoping that it would do enough to slow their enemies down.

James didn't like this plan of staying back. Even though he currently was, it was very likely the minute it all went to hell-and he could be optimistic enough to hope that it wouldn't-he was going to forget all about "understanding" and wading in there after his family. Or whoever the hell might need help. He was a Potter and a Gryffindor to boot. He was third generation of stupid heroics. And as much as James despised defining any part of him by any other merit than his own; even he couldn't deny (and basically wouldn't .. he truly was proud of it) that he was genetically predisposition to jump in without much thought when someone needed his help.

He could admit, the merit of sticking to the back. Of providing much needed cover and seeing might need help. Still just because he could admit the merit didn't mean that he liked it.

It was pretty easy for Paige to spot where she was supposed to be the minute she spotted flaming red hair. Her job wasn't complicated. Help Raven and get people in and out. She could do this. The fact that the fate of the world depended on it? Well, that was nothing. Paige was determined to deal with this with the same breezy attitude she dealt with everything. The panic would not come to the forefront.

Instead she was all determined calmness. Okay, and a lot of irritation. That constant 'exterminate, exterminate'? Yeah, that was getting old.

Paige stood at the ready. Potions for back up and distraction one could never be too careful.

Buffy had herself into position before she heard the voice of the Daleks. As completely annoying as they sounded, there was something so very...creepy, about it all. She'd met things physically more intimidating, she didn't feel the fear for them that she knew others from their world did. But she understood the concept of 'Big Bad. Must be destroyed.' Buffy wasn't about to hand her planet, or anyone she was supposed to help protect over to so super powered trash cans.

Did they have to say 'Exterminate' so much?

Her finger on the trigger of the weapon, she watched, so very carefully. And there, she was gone, Raven had got her out of the way. The second she saw the teleportation happening, Buffy opened fire. She didn't know if it had been on the one who had been talking. Either way, the weapon came to life and the assault on the invading aliens began with a strike to their forces with the one who had raised the weapon again Romana.

Was she surprised by how well the thing worked? Yep, but it was pretty cool. She wasn't a fan of guns, but sometimes he had no choice but to use powerful weapons that were made from technology, not magic. And this was the exception.

These things were threatening life here, and she'd see them all dead, and not even flinch about it later.

So it might be very Gryffindor of her for volunteering to take on a deadly race of aliens. She blamed her family. But she was still a Slytherin, and she had scoped the best place to have a clear shot and take cover. She wasn't getting herself killed over aliens. She wasn't even going to let them know she was there if she could avoid it. Hit quietly, move silently, stay alive.

When she was sure she was as secured as she as going to be, she had pressed herself flat against her shelter as she listened to the conversation below.

EXTERMINATE. Rolling her eyes, she gripped her wand, and turned, peeking down at the scene. It didn't take long to hear the first attack hit as the blonde girl who was apparently a 'slayer' fired the weapon.

Her mind wondered back to the nights she had spent in the library in the restricted section- it was so much easier to get away with things when you were Head Girl, and studying some of the more powerful spells, some darker spells, some harsher spells out of pure curiosity. Taking aim, she focused in on the Daleks, and began to fire off the most powerful spells she could think of.

Romana found herself tugged back as the weapon was raised, it felt altogether strange, like a Transmat but she could see nothing beneath her feet. Still the bait had worked and the Slayer had opened fire backed up by those with guns and the wizards. The Doctor would probably be annoyed about all the guns but it had to be done.

Had to be. No other way.

She watched with a grim satisfaction as the weapon in the hands of the Slayer destroyed the creatures outer casings and sometimes even the hidious thing within, the other bullets making certain they never moved again, Some of the Daleks began rising in the air but Romana wasn't worried, the team was efficiant.

She'd technicly defied the Shadow Proclaimation, an action that would once had caused her fear, but she was here in a different version of Earth, President of nothing more than dust in some distant galaxy. The laws she'd once followed meant nothing when there were people to protect

As some of the creatures made to rise into the air, Raven uttered a few choice focus words, "Azarath Metrion ZINTHOS!" and used all in her power to hold the Daleks still, hovering in the air, awaiting a fatal blow by something.

She chose to focus on only one at a time, choosing to leave the rest of her mind on watching her allies' backs.

"You okay?" She asked the woman she just pulled with her.

The things that were attacking him reminded Ron as to why he didn't want to be here in this blasted place in the first place. Why couldn't he go back to sleeping in a weathered tent and living off of mushrooms? One had to know that something terrible was running through Ron's mind when the decision to diet off of mushrooms and whatever other bits and pieces of food he, Harry, and Hermione were able to smuggle up while living off the wilderness was preferred to a place where he could eat as much junk as he wanted. Perhaps he was exaggerating, but at the moment, with all these odd looking things flying and screaming at them in their repetitive voices, Ron almost found himself wishing for a Portkey home.

Besides, Ron often wondered if Harry was alone without he and Hermione there to watch out for him. He might have run off, but his plans on returning to his best mate and their overall mission had never quite faltered.

Which was why he had to survive this. So he could get back home, help defeat You-Know-Who, sweep Hermione off her feet, and end up with rotten kids like Rose. Rotten in an endearing way. Possibly.

"Stupify!" A blast of red light bolted from his wand and crashed into one of the Dalek's. Ron darted to the right and repeated the hex, knowing that for the average victim it'd be enough to stun them momentarily. The Daleks weren't average, were they? No, of course not. And that, quite naturally, was a problem.
