Tyler had not realized that he wasn't alone. If he had, he probably would not have spoken aloud. He spun toward the voice, his face flushing as he did. No, he definitely would not spoke aloud if he had seen the pretty girl nearby two seconds before. Attracting attention to himself tended to be a bad idea unless one of his brothers were around. Attracting attention to himself just seconds after something strange happened was probably even less of a good idea. He mouthed wordlessly at her for a few moments, trying to find his voice, but realizing that he had absolutely no idea what to say. It was such a matter-of-fact response, and it made perfect sense, but at the same time, it made no sense at all.
"Kansas?" he finally managed, though he realized that maybe that was not the best thing to say.
Really, was acting totally confused and shocked about the state you're in anywhere even close to sounding normal? He couldn't even venture a guess where the city of Lawrence was in the state, though. Hell, he wasn't even sure if Kansas was the state that he was thinking of, so he could even not even in the right vicinity of the United States. He grimaced a bit until her next question registered in his head. He turned to look at her, blinking a few times at her. Had he heard her correctly? That was certainly not a normal question, unless she was just verifying that she's not crazy because she just saw him appear out of thin air.
Oh man. This was bad.
"Ah, who? Me?" he squeaked, flushing even brighter at the sound of his voice. Did he just sound like, really? He cleared his throat, trying to sound as normal as possible. Nonchalant. Cool as a cucumber. Yup, that's him. "Nah... nah, not me. Nope. I'm cool. I'm just gonna..." Run off and make a panicked phone call to the east coast. Yeah, that was definitely the plan. He paused before moving though and turned to look at her. "Sorry if I freaked you out," he murmured.
