Who: Elphaba and OPEN!
What: Taking a walk is good for clearing one's mind. And finding a lost kitten makes everything better. As does an encounter with a new/old friend.
When: Late morning
Where: A park
Warnings: TBA but most likely pretty tame.

To say the green-skinned witch had had a lot on her mind lately was an understatement. There were things she tried not to think about, things she shouldn't think about and things she really did need to think about. The most pressing issue was whatever was going on with Galinda. She knew it wasn't good and everything in her told her this James was bad news, though that could've just been the jealousy talking. Elphaba most likely would think that about anyone that had Galinda's eye, regardless of who it was. The witch was protective of the blonde, and she didn't want to see her get hurt again, not the way she'd hurt her in Oz. Again, Elphaba needed to remind herself this Galinda hadn't lived through that yet, but it still happened all the same. Sighing, Elphaba had to really put her mind to work, especially after Fiyero went and drove Galinda off. She knew Galinda would only close up more on this issue, so she couldn't confront it directly. Discretion was the best way to go here, but she wasn't exactly good at being discreet. Elphaba was more of the battering ram type, which is why she would ask Elena her opinion on any ideas she'd get. Tact was something Elphaba was trying really hard to learn, and at least for the moment she was succeeding. She hadn't so much as breathed a word of her concerns to Galinda, she'd continued on with the happy front. She did have to wonder if Galinda could see through her and know she had concerns. But for now, all that mattered was that she wasn't going to make the mistake Fiyero did.

Having decided to go for a walk, and after using the charm spell to degreen herself for a couple hours, Elphaba reached the park and took one of the paths there. She didn't really pay attention to anyone as she was too busy trying to keep herself from going insane. Work on one thing at a time, and right now that apparently was coming up with some clever way of getting Galinda to open up about James without her realizing it. That was much easier said than done. It was going to be extremely difficult, but there had to be a way Elphaba could talk to Galinda, get her to divulge answers. Of course, Elphaba had all ready ruled out using any sort of magic or truth serums or anything of the sort. She wouldn't do anything like that to Galinda. No, this had to be organic. The right words phrased in just the right way.

"Oh this is going to be impossible! Especially coming from me." She grumbled, shaking her head slightly. Just then, she heard a little mewing noise and she stopped in her tracks, listening. It was an animal, a cat, but where was it? She looked around but didn't see it. So she followed her ears, walking over to the bushes. Only then did she pinpoint the origin of the noise. A little black kitten was curled up and crying, obviously hungry. From the state of its fur, it had been outdoors for a while. It was dirty and a little ratty. "Aww you poor thing! Did you get lost?" Elphaba knelt down and gently picked the kitten up in her hands, pulling it free from under a bush. It struggled a bit, but didn't bite her. A gentle smile curved her lips as she held the furball to her chest, gently petting it and brushing some of the loose dirt off of it. "It's all right, I'll take you home and get you something to eat." She glanced around, wondering if it's mother was around. It had no collar or any way to identify where it came from. So at least for now, she would take care of it.
