Setting her jaw, Kimberly stared back at the new person, eyes wide and still leaking. The other woman's original stance was perceived by Kimberly as threatening and even though she lowered her arm and whatever was in it, Kimberly was on guard and took a step back. At first, she said nothing, taking in what the other girl was saying rather than asking. The other woman — Roxanne, she said — had it right. She was good. Scary good.
"I'm so fucking fuck from okay, it's not even funny," she managed to breathe after a long pause during which all Kimberly could manage to do was stare blankly at Roxanne.
Finally, Kimberly raised a hand to her forehead and slid it down to pinch the bridge of her nose. "Where am I? Is this Hell?" she asked a few moments later. Her hand dropped away to her side after wiping her eyes and she let out a heavy, shaking sigh.
