Connor gave a tiny smile in return. She did have a point. He supposed she could have just left him hanging, confused and upset with her. And if her secret was going where he was pretty sure it was, she had every right to be wary. So he supposed he could let it go.
"You know..." Okay, she wouldn't like it. And if he was wrong, she'd probably think he was crazy. But hell, she'd walked in on a dream with an Apatosaurus. If she didn't think he was mental already, who cared? "When I asked if you were from Roswell, New Mexico? It's because a lot of people think the US government houses aliens there." He paused, letting it sit between them. But then, she did say he was the only human who knew.
Then again, who was a better choice than him? He was the least likely person to be surprised by it, with the theories he subscribed to. "And you know what else? There's actually people from other planets living in the complex. Clark, and the Doctor, well, both of them, Romana, and maybe one or two others, I'm not actually sure. But definitely those four."
He hoped it would help. Letting her know she wasn't alone. In her world, though, where she basically had to hide who she was from anyone and everyone? That would be scary for anyone. At least he'd had his team back home. Not anymore, obviously. But he was making a new team with new secrets. It counted for something.
