All right so she couldn't help but crack a smile at that comment. "If you had half of my nothing, we'd at least share nothing." Sure, that was a lame joke by her standards, but right now she'd take it. After all, he wasn't asking the prying questions of what was wrong or what was bothering her. So really she couldn't complain. It wasn't exactly that she didn't want to talk about what was bothering her, it was more of the fact no one could do anything to make it better. Well, at least no one from their world. Mark couldn't bring Joanne here, and Maureen was fairly certain he couldn't stop the Apocalypse either.
Though the company was welcome, it distracted her from thinking too much. Wasn't that one reason she'd been at clubs and bars so often lately seeking company? Perhaps she should make more of an effort to be social and sober. Hell, she'd even go hang out with Roger if it meant she could talk to someone. Well, as long as they didn't start fighting, that is. And without anymore hesitation, she started digging into the chocolate cake. Because chocolate made everything better.
"Well we can't have you being disappointed. I'll drop by, promise." That would at least get her out of her apartment during daylight hours, and be a reason to see people. "And you know I don't say no to free food." From where they came from, no one ever said no to anything that was free. And she did wonder if she should find a job. It would be another reason for her to get out and be sober. But there were only a few things she'd actually even want to do.
