Poor Isabel would probably think she'd stepped into the subconscious of a mad man. And maybe she had. Connor had been missing London desperately the last couple of weeks and it was starting to show. He googled home constantly, though he'd still been very good in heeding Allana's warning not to search for himself. And he missed the ARC and he missed working and feeling important. Popping in on the occasional tech problem here was okay, but it wasn't enough to make him feel useful.
So, apparently, his dream state took care of that.
There was an apatosaurus wandering around London, near the Thames. What used to be called the brontosaurus, the dinosaur was, without question, huge. And shouldn't even be able to fit through typical London street traffic, but there he was, just the same. Which would lead most people to realize they were dreaming, but Connor was used to dealing with things in places they really shouldn't be.
The creature was headed towards the London Eye, and Connor was used to having the rest of the team for backup. Becker should have been there with the giant gun of amazingness and half a dozen men following his lead. And Abby would be there, loading up a tranq gun, trying to get to the animal before the men could shoot it. And he, well, he was supposed to be looking for the anomaly so the others could secure the area around it and make sure their giant friend had no other friends coming along on the trip with him.
But he didn't have the detector on him. How could that have been? And where was the team? And furthermore, why was London all but empty? They were in a touristy area, it should have been crammed at that point.
"Oh come on!" he all but whined, knowing it didn't actually matter. It wasn't like the apatosaurus had any immediate intentions of eating him. Though he could get trampled. But the large herbivores were known for their tiny brains, which probably meant they were pretty stupid. Which, of course, meant it was going to be harder to heard the damn thing. Especially on his own. Where was everyone?
