Yes Ginny could have asked Neville to help her bake, she knew that! And normally she would have, though it would have ruined the whole surprise of her baking him cookies for his birthday. Really, there was a method to her madness. Any other situation and she would have asked for help but this was special, therefore, no asking.
"Of course it would have been fun! But I can't exactly have asked you to help bake your own birthday cookies! Completely ruins the point. But next time I decide to bake, I'll come get you, deal?"
And then she was being offered a cookie, so Ginny took one and took a bite. Given she had really only taken solitary bites in her testing of the cookies through out the day, she wasn't burnt out on cookies, no matter what Ron said. Still, Neville managed to make the red head blush at the comment about how there shouldn't be any doubt given she was the one who made them.
"Well, I know I'm not good in the kitchen and Ron more or less said he was terrified for you since I was baking you cookies? Yeah. Maybe some, but that's because I mean, they're for you and you should like them and yeah."
Ginny Weasley, the user of words. Clearly she was skilled at expressing herself. And usually she was, but sometimes she failed and instead just rambled in circles. After all, she was only sixteen despite everything that she'd gone through, through what all of them had gone through.
