He started at her touch, not expecting it. He'd been so preoccupied with what would happen once she reached the station that he'd completely missed her entrance. Both hearts racing, he froze, his eyes fixed on hers and wide with surprise and not a little bit of shame. He'd done it again. He'd gone and gotten it wrong. It took a moment for what she had said to register, and when it did, he swallowed back anything he might have said in response and simply nodded. How was he supposed to reply? What was the right thing to say?
The Doctor meekly allowed Rose to guide him out of the shop. Had she brought a car? He couldn't remember if she'd said anything about a car, wasn't sure if he'd heard one pull up before she'd come in. Come to think of it, he wasn't sure if Rose even drove. The issue had never really come up before, had it?
Once they were outside the store, he asked, quietly, "Walking, or ... ?"
