And he knew. He remembered well her feelings on the subject. She wanted to get married one day and he so completely didn’t it wasn’t even funny. It made him think of nothing other than the horrible childhood he’d had and those idiots that had given him life. And Florence had always said they’d be different, they’d be a better couple, their kids would be happy. But there had been rows, just the same. Mostly caused by Freddie himself but he wondered sometimes looking back on it if that was all he knew how to do. Row and rant and rave.
He hadn’t expected her to be jealous though, worried there’d been others. But the thing was he was pretty sure no one else would see him the way she did. No one else would have taken what she did and stayed. He knew he wasn’t easy to love but she’d managed. “There was no one Florence” he said simply. “I was here a while sure and I made friends but there was no one since you so...y’know. Don’t worry about it.”
He shook his head after a moment “Well...no there was, there was a girl at Global, dark hair, during that year, was just a few times, meant nothing, she wanted more than I was willing to give y’know. But if we’re doing full disclosure. Her name was Liz.” He’d honestly almost forgotten about her, there hadn’t even been a date, she’d been easy, and willing, and looked enough like Florence that it had been an easy decision.
Now that they were inside the restaurant he turned to her. “Clean slate though okay. I’ll try not to screw up. How about that?” he joked, though it really was always him that managed to. “It’s a nice place, I kinda knew you’d like it.” As for the fans. “Hah...” Fans was one words for it. “No damage control you mean, right? No worry I’m gonna say something to offend half of them while making the other half cheer me?”
[ooc: Gah I was convinced I'd tagged this before the LARP, had it saved and everything!]
