She was trying to leave? Was it a good idea for her to make an exit like that after having all of that thrown at her? Was Clark supposed to stop her? He reached out with a hand and wrapped his fingers carefully around the upper portion of her right arm. Before Lois could get to the door, Clark turned her about to face him, leaning in close so that his face was merely inches away from her own. Maybe she could run away. But Clark wanted to make it painfully clear that she had no reason to. Not because he was an alien and certainly not because, to his complete and utter shock, she had just admitted to having feelings for him.
It looked like he wasn't the only one who had been keeping a secret. Rather than throwing that bit of information into her face, Clark locked eyes with Lois briefly. In response to her declaration of needing to leave, he merely said, "Why?"
